Post OP medicine/cocktails (Viagra/Cialis)

Something interesting to talk about:

I haven't seen this anywhere else, but my doctor uses a special post op cocktail for people who get his "very high density" FUE (which in my case was around 75-80 fu/cm2).

Apart from all the normal stuff people take (antibiotics, stuff for swelling, all that good stuff), I've been taking a specific mix of:  Oral Minoxidil, but more importantly with it Viagra and Cialis.  I take it every morning, and will continue doing so for 3 months.  Again, never seen this before.  He says it's his own protocol that he does to increase bloodflow for such high densities and help graft survival.

I know it's something definitely not recommended anywhere, and haven't heard of it anywhere else, so wanted to bring attention to it for other people to think about and discuss.

🤔 well minoxidil is a vasodilator which is what viagra and cialis are, so in theory, it makes sense. I’ll have to ask about this, I know bodybuilders take it before working out for pumps.

Not the case anymore, but first few days my skin (around collar bones, chest, etc) almost looked like I had sunburn, it was quite red.

I assume this was from increased bloodflow to the skin, which would then mean it is definitely serving its purpose for the scalp as well.

I would rather consult some Internist doctor about using Viagra and similar stuff, cause of heart, blood, etc. , as not all HT surgeons know well all areas of Medicine, never heard some doctor suggested viagra cocktail for that purpose density of hair :) , what must not mean he is right in some way...

Saw many doctors, even their consultants so easy tell potential customers to use finasteride, minoxidil, etc. without any checking patient's state, like his blood, scalp, skin, etc. , what by my opinion not well, as any medication to use need consultation with doctor specialized for that area, cause can be some side effects...

As @Melvin- Moderator wrote there can be a sense using such coctail, as related to faster bloodflow, what viagra in fact does...

But 3 months to be horny often by that viagra is challenge :) , but all in name of good density can be sacroficed :) ...

So I actually missed a 4th ingredient.  It also contains arginine.  So the pill I take every day is a mix of:  Minoxidil, Viagra, Cialis and Arginine.  I think he only prescribes this for people who are getting very high density transplants (which again, in my case was up to 80+ grafts per cm2), as the recipient area really requires good blood flow to be able to have maximum graft survival at such a dense packing (at least that is my understanding of the reasoning behind it).

Also, my hair transplant surgeon, who's been doing hair transplants exclusively for probably 15+ years, was a surgeon before that (and is a doctor, did med school, etc.), so I'm not worried about his recommendations as to this.  Furthermore, I was required to do tons of checkups before I got my hair transplant, including blood tests, having a cardiologist check my heart health and write me off as safe for surgery, among other things.
