Recommendations on clinics in Turkey that aren't TIER - 1

Recommended Posts

Hello,

First of all, a big thanks to this blog, I now know quite a few things about HT and the Turkey HT mafia. I'm a 31 yo M, from Dubai, a Norwood 7, who would need around 5k grafts.

I am considering Turkey because I've heard a lot about it and some of the results (the ones they chose to post online) look decent but soon discovered that most of these are actually "Hair Mills" from this blog.

I'm not gonna lie, I do not want to go to one of the Tier-1 places like HLC, Dr Bicer, Perkiner, Keser etc. First, probably because the results look only marginally better than the Tier- 2 clinics (not hair mills) and I might be wrong about this. Second, personally, I might as well go bald in a couple of years rather than spending $ 16-18k. Confidence is not an issue for me, so I don't see the point of spending so much on my hair. Also, I do not completely agree that one has to visit only these elite clinics to get a decent result, but can also visit an experienced / ISHRS certified specialist. Please do comment if your opinion differs.

So coming to the point of this question, can someone please provide decent recommendations for Tier - 2 hospitals / clinics in Turkey that are not "Hair Mills" ? (I am avoiding clinics like "Long Hair" where Dr. Ahmet Yilidrim said he'll do 5k grafts or more in a single sitting)

I will go for 2 sittings and I am considering Smile Hair Clinic (Dr. Mehmet Erdogan), Dr. Resul Yaman, and Demirsoy.

I would love feedback on these and suggestions on better ones please.

Demirsoy, definitely.

But especially as a Norwood 7, the best place you can probably go anywhere in the world is Eugenix in India. You'll pay about the same as you would at a 'tier 2' Turkish clinic, but be in better hands, overall.

So my advice would be to not limit yourself to Turkey.

^this if you’re Norwood 7 Eugenix is the best clinic and they’re the same price as the good Turkish clinics.

Although personally I think just about everyone will agree that Eugenix are top of the list in India in particular ! And Especially with the higher Norwood levels ! 🙏

@SixthtrinketI agree with @JohnAC71 Furthermore with Eugenix you would be in “an iron barrel” also with regard to post transplant assistance, which is not to be underestimated, because the unexpected is always around the angle , and if you do not want to find yourself with a transplant gone wrong, and a sheet with the words "10 year guarantee" that hair mills usually give you and that you can clean your butt, contact Eugenix and talk to them for a bit.

I would love to go down to India, which is my home country, and get this done with Eugenix. But UAE (where I work) has suspended flights with India and the reason I cannot wait for the flights to open is that I'm getting married in November, and would love to grow some hair by then. So time is really not on my side.

Is 4 months too short a time for hair to grow back to a decent amount ? Am I taking a risk ?

Yes at only 4 months you may only have the very beginning of growth. Most people start from month 4. Yes we can see early growers but it’s definitely not worth risking it. Much better to wait it out and choose Eugenix (for example) when travel becomes possible again.

I don't know what sort of wait times the better Turkish clinics have right now, but let's assume you could get booked in for a few weeks time from now, you'd be - at best - just coming out of the ugly duckling phase for your wedding. And that's assuming you were seeing some good results. Imagine if you were showing signs of a bad result before your wedding?

Given the very tight timeframe, you're going to look vastly better on your wedding day with a nicely shaved down, clean looking head than you are with a HT in and around the worst stages of its infancy. I'd say just go and enjoy your big day, free from any worry about your hair and then get it sorted at the best possible place when travel restrictions allow for it. This is surgery remember - one that requires a great deal of skill, nuance, artistry and science. It's complicated and takes a long time to manifest into an aesthetically pleasing result. It's absolutely not something you want to rush into or squeeze in for a particular event.

Thank you Berba and John, better sense prevailed and I'm now considering going through with the wedding first, and then think about the HT later on. Might get a couple of PRP sessions in these 4 months to see if it changes anything.

However, the best time to get HT done seems to be in the next one year because now my donor area is healthy and I might still be able to get decent results if I go through, rather than just wait.

Thanks for your help.

I think that's very wise. Have a great wedding day and congratulations! In the meantime, maybe you'll want to get in touch with a few clinics of interest and see what they have to say about your situation.

All the best!

PRP won’t give any benefit. Save your money 🤩 put it toward a elite clinic 👌

I consulted with Dr. Yaman, and got a really good strategy and price from him. Of the the Tier-2 clinics, he's one of the lowest.

Being a member of ISHRS and doing the incisions by himself, why is his price as low as hair mills where a doctor is probably not even involved ? Appreciate your thoughts on this.

I think he is happy with his place in the market. His costs have remained affordable and recent results in particular are good. I will always suggest people consider him or Demirsoy rather than the mills.
Dr Yaman gets over looked sometimes.
