Hi all, had my procedure 7 days ago after considering it for many years and finally going for it, thanks mainly to the advice from here so thought I'd share updates given this forum was such a help to me when researching.

I'm 33 and started losing my hair in temples from early 20's, been on finasteride for a few years which prevented the full hair island but damage was already done.

Had originally booked into procedure abroad but was concerned about more Covid delays and wanted to make the most of wfh period as best as I could. After seeing recent Dr Arshad results, it made my mind up.

Day itself was quite long and exhausting, mainly due to my 3 hr drive to Leeds but the whole team make it as comfortable as possible. Everyone was really friendly and chatty throughout the day which was a real plus.

In terms of grafts:

S=61
M= 167
1= 144
2= 522
3=1353

Total= 2247 grafts

Happy with the shape and got some compliments on my hair quality so hoping this translates to a strong result.

I'm not sure to be honest, my guess is it's something to do with fine hairs near nape used for HL but hopefully someone else can explain.

This is the donor 7 days post, I think it seems to be recovering well.

For the grafts, what do S and M stand for? Do you have any pics shortly post op? Any of the donor? Thanks for sharing.

Hello @giegnosiganoe

S= super soft single
M= Medium single
1 =  Normal single

Depending on the type of case Dr Arshad tends to grade the grafts as he is excising them.

Hope that helps.

Regards

15 day Post - Update

Hi all, already two weeks in. Healed quite well and had a fair bit of shedding with scabbing that mostly came out with shampooing. Still a bit of numbness in recipient and donor and scalp is a bit crusty still, going to try a bit of aloe for it but otherwise no complaints. Glad I can finally get out and start running again (advised against anything that causes sweating for first two wks) and going to start football in a couple of weeks but with the aim of avoiding all headers.

With the native growth coming back I'm starting to see what I'm going to look like for the next few months (basically 80's Phil Collins).Just a waiting game now I guess, hoping that the early shedding means early growth. Interested to hear thoughts though?

Lol 80s Phil Collins 😏 Looking really good. Exceptionally clean. And the redness/pinkness will fade in time 👌

The last 2 pics are not showing ?

Hopefully fixed.

Your donor looks impeccable at this point. Everything looks right on track.

1 month update

All shedding done now I think/ hope. Lasted longer than The Super League at least.

Can clearly still see new hairline, and what might be straggling surviving grafts or new shoots? Surely not so soon?

Also, can't work out if I've had a bit of shock loss running down the centre of my head with frontal circle looking a bit thicker. I don't think the lighting helps here either. Thoughts on this?

13 weeks

I've started to see some shoots coming through, hard to distinguish without a zoom between the odd surviving long hair grafts in the pics but definite small hairs started coming through from wk 11 onwards. Only a handful each side as it stands but fingers crossed I start seeing more pushing through as the weeks tick on.

Had a couple of back and side number 3's as the native hair started getting longer. Donor looks untouched, you'd never know.

18 wk Update

Bit more going on. Seems to be more coming through on right hand side so hoping the other side just needs to catch up rather than anything worse. Some fine hairs that don't show up so well on photos too, hoping these thicken in time, also still no defined hairline visible as it stands.

Hoping I'll start seeing a lot more progress in next couple of months but reasonably pleased with progress so far.

6 Month Update

Not a lot of progress since last update disappointingly. My hair is quite thin in native parts and new hair does seem to need some thickening so I'm hopeful of improvement over following few months but I am a bit concerned about low coverage area of hairs that have come through, especially the hair line which is undefined and sporadic with hairs along it. I'm keeping faith that I may see new growth coming through still but also have come to terms that I might need a second HT

I did have a lot of triples (majority) transplanted but can't see many examples of this. Anyone have experience of additional hairs from triples/doubles taking longer to come through?

I've taken a cpl of pics each of full light and dim light.

They have suggested that growth can still come through after 6 months. I will keep the faith and hope things are looking better in a few months time.

Yes that is correct, the next month will give a better idea of where your heading in terms of growth and improvement. Fingers crossed 🤞

Can you take some pictures with your hair without pushing it up, perhaps you can comb your hair back.
