tbb1252 Posted February 4, 2021 Share Posted February 4, 2021 I have a question. For my whole life I have had a bad hairline always been a v shape. In fact in middle school my friends would often joke that i was balding a make fun of my hairline. I’m 17 now and my hairline definitely still has that v shape however it hasn’t gotten any worse in fact I measure my hairline every month and I haven’t seen any change over the past 6 months is it possible just to have a bad hairline. Also there’s pictures of my dad when he was in his 20s where you would definitely say his hairline is receding but 30 years later he still has a solid head of hair. What are your guys thoughts? tbb1252 Posted February 4, 2021 Author Share Posted February 4, 2021 Btw I forgot to mention that I went to the dermatologist like a month ago just because I wanted to see if anything was really going on he said he didn’t see any diffusion or thinning and said I was fine he also worked with me for my acne a couple years ago and so he saw my hairline back then so that’s also probably why he told I was fine because my hairline hasn’t changed since then Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I made a mistake when i went in the surgical chair. Having a congenital "unaesthetic" hairline is definitely a possibility. It's definitely subjective though. Some people may be dreaming about having the OP's hairline. After understanding that there is no androgenetic alopecia, but rather just genetics, the easy solution (easy for me to say) would be to tell the patient to simply accept his/her hairline. At such a young age, it wouldn't be a good idea to jump into surgery. So if it bothers the patient a lot (and looks like this is the case), shaving the center of the hairline into the shape he prefers is a possible solution. It requires a bit of upkeep, but can buy him many years until he feels his native hairline is more fitting or a hair transplant becomes a more sensible solution. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
