Relation between baldness degree and onset of hair loss

It seems you make one of these Norwood 7 doom threads at least once a week. No one can tell the future, Norwood 7 is rare, but if you have relatives with that level of baldness, then it could happen.

It’s my main worry 😂
I have one uncle with Norwood 7 and most of the other relatives have less degrees !

I would say you can never be 100% sure where you will end up. You can use common sense as judgement tho. Someone who starts balding at 18 and is a Norwood 4 by 22 is likely in for a bad time. And conversely, someone who has a full head of hair and just starts noticing minor temple recession at 37 is nothing to freak out about.

The question is how can you know

I have diffuse thinning but in the norwood 6 area !

Post pics of the rear of your head (under strong lighting) and tell us how many years you've been balding.

I'll bet we can give you a reasonably good estimate

For more than 10 years years now !

Started in twenties

I mean by NW 7 when you have very low sides

Since you asked, I'll be perfectly honest with you, that does not look good for you.

I'd say almost for sure you're headed for a NW7.

You do look to have strong sides though, so perhaps a decent result using combo of scalp and bodyhair is not out of the question.

Maybe you can post pics of the sides as well??  It'll give us a better idea

This photo was just few weeks before the other one but with longer hair.

Different camera angle ?

If I was a betting man I could see a Norwood 7 reality in the future based on the crown, but again this is all speculation. No one knows what the future holds.

Sides dont look good either.  Very diffuse thinning.

Again, if you have good beard and chest hair you might be able to pull off a BHT/Scalp hair result

If the sides and the crown drop too much this will need more and more grafts !

Exactly. And I honestly don’t think you would have enough to cover it adequately. Yes BHT has come far but it needs some scalp hair too!

You also appear to have retrograde alopecia, which makes things even worse.

I would contact Dr. Umar and see if he can help you.

He has helped thousands of NW7's using BHT and scalp hair, so don't give up hope.

Go do a YT search on his work

Are you on meds? How is your beard hair? You can try consulting with Eugenix they do a lot of high Norwood cases it would still have to be majority scalp though. Pictures sometimes can be deceiving depending on the lighting and camera quality. Have you consulted with any surgeon's and are you open to surgery?
