What do you guys think? What are some of the reasons why a hair transplant wouldn't last? I would love to hear the communities responses.

Hair is in a constant state of flux, that applies to both donor and recipient areas.  If you are destined to have severe miniaturization in your donor region as you age (including some retrograde alopecia), your transplant will get thinner over time and I imagine some grafts will eventually die off.  Does that mean the entire HT was a failure?  No, but the  results that once pleased you may regress years later.

But the sun will explode in 5 billion years or so... so nothing lasts forever. 😉

Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008

Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013

Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020

Large scale FUE procedures done on young patients where extractions are taken from outside the "safe zone".

See these all the time in Turkey

This is true for some, but on the flip side, everyone’s safe zone is different. There is no universal safe zone.

Yes that's true but that's why it's even more important to find a reputable surgeon that can estimate where your NW level will progress and also try and slow or halt your regression before getting a HT, especially if you're a young man
