Regular Member fusion47 Posted December 28, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 28, 2008 Tomorrow (Monday) marks the 7th day since my HT on the 22nd. I think it's safe now to massage my scalp with shampoo with the pads of my fingers? If that's true, I'll be in the shower for about two hours! Bill - Seemiller
fusion, Always follow the postoperative instructions of your physician. However, many surgeons would agree that by the 5th day plus, you can start slowing massaging your scalp with your finger tips (not the nails) in order to start working off the scabs. You don't need to apply too much pressure. Consistent circles will do the trick. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member Eman Posted December 29, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 29, 2008 Like Bill said, follow your docs instructions!! Can never be too safe and I would say be patient and wait until day ten before beginning the massage...it can't hurt to wait a little longer. My initial HT thread: done and done!! Check it out... Regular Member fusion47 Posted December 29, 2008 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 29, 2008 Dr. Cooley said to start the massage after one week. Any bleeding, wait a few days. I massaged for a few minutes (was late for work) and the scabs started flaking off once i got out of the shower. I had PRP and I honestly think day 7 was perfect for working the scabs off.
