Senior Member Dr. James Vogel Posted January 30, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted January 30, 2015 This woman was interested in a lower hair line and smaller forehead. We discussed hair transplantation versus a formal hair line lowering operation. She chose the latter procedure as it was a one stage and immediate improvement that took 2 hours to perform. There is a scar at the hairline but in most cases the healing is sufficiently excellent to be inconspicuous. In some cases patients have a follow up small transplant to camouflage the scar or lower the hairline further. This result is seen at 3 months following the procedure. Her hairline was lowered by 2cm. No transplants were done. This case is submitted to illustrate another option to hair transplants in selected patients. Senior Member BaldingBogger Posted January 31, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted January 31, 2015 I have to say this looks great improvement on this patient. I would think perhaps this procedure is ideally for women though.? Although I would love to have my own lowered a little bit. I would be afraid of progressive thinning in the front exposing a scar. Which I imagine would be even far worse than than a back of head scar exposed. Would be good to see some pics of the scarring left behind. I would assume a buzz or short cut would be ruled out also post this op.
