So here’s the big 12 months update! I will try and keep it short & crisp.

RESULT

I am guessing the overall growth must be near complete now. The frontal looks good to me and is a huge improvement over where I was before my 1st procedure :). I was looking at my FB pics and was startled at where I would have been without the transplants. The crown patch has also grown decently well but stands out due to further loss in the crown area. The curly/erect hair that are seen are primarily beard hair from the 1st procedure with Dr. Bhatti. The grafts in the mid-scalp region that did not grow after the first procedure did grow after they were re-done.

I have tried to include many pictures from indoors & outdoors for a complete assessment.

Going Forward

The non-transplanted area has thinned further due to progressive hair fall. :( Out of personal choice I have decided not to use finastride, maybe had I used it, the hairloss would’ve been much lesser. Although, I still won’t be using it.

Any suggestions interms of haircut/styling is welcome as the mid-scalp + crown are not full and I also do not see myself getting another procedure done. Maybe a 2-3 grade buzz cut is the best option but if possible I’d like to keep my hair longer.

Cheers!

Shane,

Big transformation! Congratulations. Thank you for sharing.

Looks good! Thanks for sharing, and it`s also good imo not to take Fin, it`s just not worth the risks..

Thank you guys!

@Blake - Any suggestions interms of haircut etc. specially becoz of the thinning mid-scalp?

@QM - I took it for a few months after my 1st procedure and had sides. This $hit is not worth it even if it had given you back a full head of hair!

Hi Shane

I have been reading your posts. Thank you for sharing your journey and the updates. My hairloss + transplant pattern is similar. I have transplanted hair in the hairline and some in the crown. I have some hair in the mid area now but they are thinning already and they will go at some point. You were considering doing a buzz cut to 2/3. I was just curious to know how you style your hair now.

Thanks

Hi Shane

First of all, amazing results!! I was delighted just to see the pics and suddenly have my hopes up. Would be glad if my results are even 70-75%.

I want to inquire about the medication you took post-ht and did you took the same pre-ht as well. My HT was done 3 months back (2500 grafts - Dr Bhatti - India). After HT, I was asked to daily take 1 mg generic finasteride, biotin and use minoxidil at night. I have been regular on finasteride and biotin but skipped minoxidil as it had not suited me before.

I am currently undergoing heavy shedding, which most probably due to finasteride, so not worried.

Do you think not taking minoxidil will adversely effect my hair growth a lot? As I am 3 months into finasteride already, I dont think its a good time to start minoxidil now as its shedding period will conflict with propecia's growth period. Let me know what you think about it?

And any other suggestions/precautions to improve chances of good results?

Looking forward to hear from you soon.
