Here's another in the series of short videos discussing common topics we see at the office. This one is on shockloss.

Sometimes I have trouble uploading the videos....so if I can't get it to work here is a link to where it is on youtube just in case:

Blame it on my age for not getting this done, our "techy" is off at the beach and not available to help.

Thanks for the video, very informative! When I've had shock loss in the past in the donar, the areas without hair have been very pinky/red even though there was about half an inch of shock loss above/below the scar , the whole area was pinky/red even after 2months or so is that normal? Is it due to the quarterisation? The skin in the shock loss area in the vid looked normal colour

Thanks.

Yes redness is common particularly in red complected people, like northern europeans...not so much in dark skin people like me. Generally peaks at about 6 weeks, longer in younger, shorter in older people. I just saw 2 people I'd rebuilt their noses recently after skin cancer, both around 7 weeks out. The 70 year old looks like nothing was done, well healed and scar fading nicely, the 43 year old has a red nose....will take a few more months to fade. Same thing happens with recipient areas AND scar lines too.

You'd think as often as I give that talk I wouldn't have needed notes in the video.

Oh, was it a video? I thought it was a photograph of you until you went to the the computer screen. They're called 'moving pictures' for a reason...;)

I'm serious.  Just look at my face.
