Unnatural looking hair

Hello,

having seen a lot of pictures of HTs I've regularly come across of pictures that show the hair in the hairline looking unnatural / curely or whatever.

apparently isnt always the case, but often pictures, especially when taken by the clinic, are taken with wet hair, possibly to cover this.

anyway what causes this? is it poor work by the surgeon because the grafts were inserted in the wrong direction or does the hair sooner or later realign to the rest of the hairs direction?

regards

For me, It's hard to tell with that hairline as we can't really see what his normal hair texture is. But normally hair texture is uniform on a head, so having curly hair on the hairline of a curly-haired individual is not out of the norm.

yes i think i've seen pre-OP pics from people with similar (curly) hair but also have seen and heard of people with non curly hair who had curly hair like on the picture after the HT.

What you're describing sounds like the initial growth stage: transplanted grafts have shed and new hair is coming through. It's often wiry/curly at the start and takes time to mature.

4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013

1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018

763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020

Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

Yes, at first the hair may have a curly texture for a while and then it will grow normal. However, if the doc plants the graft at a poor angle, it will grow at a poor angle forever.

lets say that there are a few poorly placed grafts in our new hairline. can we remove them or re-insert them or would that leave scars? or in other words, could the mistake easily get corrected?
