Dr. Jerry Cooley
This patient is in his 40's and has type IV/V hair loss. We started him on finasteride and performed an FUT procedure consisting of 4,709 grafts: 1-885, 2-2028, 3-1253, 4-543; total hairs = 10,872. He had an above average hair/graft count. The 1's and 2's were placed in the frontal scalp and the 3's and 4's went into the crown. He is shown 15 months after surgery. The crown could use another pass but the patient is happy with his results at this point. Senior Member agenteye Posted July 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 1, 2013 WOW!!! EXCELLENT RESULT Dr. Cooley. This patient must be over the moon with what the procedure did for him......I am very impressed!!! What a great amount of 3 and 4 hair grafts.......almost 11,000 hairs certainly did wonders for him!! I think another pass would be something to consider in the future, but if I were him.....I'd be in no hurry either! Congrats to you and this patient on such a dramatic transformation. How was the patients overall density/laxity. I'm guessing both were above average? Does the patient have medium or coarse hair. Looks a bit like my hair characteristics in regards to color, texture....etc. 4737 FUT with Dr. Rahal on 11/16/2012 Daily regimen: 1/4 Proscar (1.25 mg Finasteride), Rogaine Foam (twice daily), 1000 mcg Biotin, 1 combo Vitamin D/Calcium/Magnesium, 1500 mg Glocosamine, 750 mg MSM, 1200 mg Fish Oil, 2000 mg Vitamin C, Super B-Complex, 400 I.U Vitamin E. Senior Member Cant decide Posted July 1, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted July 1, 2013 Fantastic result doc. I love the way the crown came out. Granted they were all 3/4 hair grafts but only about 1800 were used.... Amazing. How big was the crown in sq cm? My Hairloss Web Site - Procedure #1: 5229 Grafts with Dr. Rahal Oct, 2010 Procedure #2: 2642 Grafts with Dr. Rahal Aug, 2013 7871 Grafts http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2452
Dr. Jerry Cooley
The back part was over 100 sq cm2. I should clarify that this includes both the "crown" and "midscalp". So the 3/4's went into the crown, and quite a few 2's went into the midscalp. Thanks for your comments. No, this patient did not have PRP/ACell. We were not doing that as frequently then, but would have recommended now.
