Regular Member Theluckyllama Posted May 22, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) Hey everyone. Here's my blog and details from my procedure with Dr Rahal I had last week. I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Rahal and his staff. My work looks amazing and as the doc said himself it's going to be a "Masterpiece!!" I did a full write up on Dr Rahal's website, if you want more details on the procedure. But the long short is that I felt like I was in the best hands possible, everyone was amazing and the skill of Dr. Rahal is undeniable. Of course another special honorable mention to Mike, he is the man! I stayed at the Brookeline guesthouse with another fellow HT patient from London. He's an awesome guy and I know both of us are going to have incredible heads of hair in the coming months! I can not stress enough how amazing it is to stay at the Brookeline house in Ottawa. I came down expecting to feel like I was all on my own, but having that camaraderie with another HT patient and bonding while at the house was freakin fantastic. Details - 2639 FUE Grafts 1s - 393 2s - 818 3s - 1053 4s - 375 Photos are preop and 1 & 5 days after. - June 1st- Just added a two week shot with all the scabs gone. - August 21. Three months 1 week. Just added a couple pics of my three month progress, lots of hairs starting to sprout, I'm getting pretty excited for month 4-6 where things will really kick up! Dr. Rahal told me that I got about double the amount of 3's expected and it's going to provide a knockout result... God I can not wait! I turn 30 next month and boy it's going to be a good year! Senior Member Cant decide Posted May 23, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted May 23, 2013 If a modest guy like Rahal said "Masterpiece" with all the great results he puts out, this result is going to be ridiculously good!!! Believe me, I can not stress how much of a difference it makes to be sharing a HT journey with another patient while at the house. I know I made the right choice with Dr. Rahal & team! And to think of all the cool things I am going to do with my new hair, I'm literally on cloud 9.

Mate great to see you on here! Ahhh you're only saying that cos I made lots of tea. You're an absolute top bloke and have no doubt you'll be sporting a major Fro in just a few months. I've seen the work in person and it's every bit as impressive as it looks in the pics. Hope the journey back to VC was easy. Maybe see you in London town sometime soon, be great to have you over. My missus passes on her regards for keeping me sane post op, even if she isnt your biggest fan for getting me hooked on hockey (not another sport she says!)! Look forward to seeing your updates. ps. Matt cheers for kind words bud, great to see things are coming along nicely (no surprises there) and loving the incidental love interest in the updates! ha. Regular Member Theluckyllama Posted June 20, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 20, 2013 Congratulations, but, what happens if you lose your forelock in the next few years? We did a pretty thorough check of my forelock and it has not thinned much at all. If it does go, then I will be making a return to the chair to get it fixed up. I still have an estimated 2500 grafts left to go if I do FUE. If things get really bad in the next 10 years, I probably have 4000+ for FUT. I'm not too worried. HOPEFULLY in the next 5-10 years there will be another treatment on the market that will help us maintain our hair without any nasty hormone alterations. Hit one month 4 days ago, most of the transplanted hair has shed, oddly there are some grafts (maybe 2%) that have decided to stick around and call me crazy, they appear to be growing? I'll post a couple pics tomorrow.

Regular Member Theluckyllama Posted October 18, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 18, 2013 Ok, so 5 months was yesterday. I just snapped a couple quick shots while at work. I will do a big update at the 6 month milestone with some proper shots. As you can see, the growth is insane! I don't even recognize myself anymore. I've been trotting around without a hat on, or worrying about my hair. It's truly a life altering change. I have product in my hair (so stoked about that), you can see my hairline is still a bit thin, but the camera really makes it look worse then it is. No flash of course! In a few more months I expect it will be fully grown in. Can't believe it! For those of you guys who question the validity of FUE, I am happy to be the person to evaporate that mentality. Dr. Rahal & Team are truly masters of the game.
