I am a 39 year old male with Norwood 2 almost 3 hair loss. Currently I am using Nizoral Shampoo twice per week, minoxidil and finasteride. A week from today I will be undergoing a hair transplant at the talizi clinic in Georgia with Dr Akaki Tsilosani. I will post pictures before the surgery and after as well as my comments on the clinic and the result. I chose this clinic as it is quite close to where I live, the price is reasonable and most importantly the Dr took the time to answer many of my questions; assuring me that I would have my desired result. I wanted to write this so anyone in my position will know either what to do or what not to do. Anyway wish me luck, I will write again posting pictures immediately prior to my leaving for Georgia. Hope all goes well

Quite a lot of research actually, I was looking at several clinics and called many patients from different countries asking them about the results that they had. If you have a specific negative comment about this clinic I would be very happy to see it. I have not seen or heard one, so please point me in the right direction,

An amazing experience (4002 grafts) with Dr. Koray Erdogan (ASMED Clinic).

I have uploaded photos to my album before transplant. I will upload again next week immediately following the op. Thank you very much for this forum, it has helped quite a lot in researching which treatments were best.

I have updated my photos with better quality ones; both before and after the transplant as well as including information about the follicle units in my donor site as well as the follicle units on the top of the head after the surgery.

I arrived in Georgia on Sunday and was taken to the hotel. The following morning I met Dr. Akaki and he was extremely helpful in answering all my questions; regarding the size of instruments used, the possibility of shock loss and how to effectively deal with it, and together we decided on my hairline and that we would do the one and two follicle units to have a natural hairline. The actual procedure was very easy; Dr Akaki was extremely professional while cutting the donor area and I felt nothing, he explained to me throughout the procedure what was happening. After the strip was taken he showed me how they evaluate the hairs under the microscope and how they go about selecting appropriate hairs; he then used the .7mm needle to do the frontal area; and slightly larger needles to do the top. He used a counter to keep track of the number of hairs placed in total he did 2040. The whole procedure took approximately 4 hours and I felt nothing. I was able to sleep on the back of my head and have had no pain in the donor area (he gave me painkillers for Monday, but I have taken nothing today and feel no pain. I had a bit of swelling in the forehead but it subsided within 24 hours. I am very pleased with the procedure and feel that I was informed throughout by Dr Akaki as to what I should expect and I found his knowledge and willingness to share very comforting. The procedure was just yesterday and I am hopeful that the results will be very good. Thus far I am completely pleased with the procedure. I would be very happy to hear anyone's thoughts regarding the procedure and am happy to answer any questions. I will update my photos in 7 days.

Today is day 13 after my FUT hair transplant with Dr Akaki Tsilosani at the Talizi clinic in Georgia. I wrote him a question earlier today regarding crusting and hair falling out after surgery; but wanted to comment here regarding exercise after an FUT procedure. I read a lot of different information regarding when it was ok to return to the gym after the procedure, some people returned to the gym in as little as two weeks where as others to be cautious waited a couple of months.

My experience with the donor scar has been very positive, I have felt no pain or pulling at anytime after the first 48 hours, the only unpleasant sensation I had in the area was a desire to scratch it which subsided after the 6th day.

On day 5 I began doing push ups and sit ups and felt no discomfort in the donor area, on day 7 I returned to the gym and did 80 percent of the workout I normally do (free weights, cardio, nautilus) I exercised my chest and felt no discomfort in the area; during or after the workout. I am now at day 13 and have gone back to my regular work out at full strength.

There have been no problems at all with the donor area. You can see the pictures of the donor scar immediately post op in my folder.

I hope my experience is useful to other people wondering about exercise (weight training) after FUT. I will post again later today regarding the recipient site once I receive an answer from the Doctor regarding shedding and crusting post op.

I am now 13 days post op. I began using Minoxidil from day 7; and started using normal shampoo and washing the area normally from day 7. The recipient area was very itchy for the first 10 days; at day 9 I began to rub the white flaky scabs in the recipient area in a circular motion and the transplanted hair began to fall out with usually a white flaky crust attached to the bottom. This worried me quite a lot as it looks like the transplanted hair is falling out with the root attached, I have lost about 25% of the transplanted hairs in the last 3 days. I have not experienced any bleeding at all and was told by the Doctor that this is quite normal, from what I could gather on the internet he seems to be correct; what does everyone think? Is it cause for concern?

If I'm being honest, I think you are doing things MUCH too soon! 7 days after strip surgery and you are back doing weights in the gym close to full capacity is asking for trouble. I have never had strip, but I'm only going from the vast amount of stories I have read while researching FUT.

If I were in your shoes right now, I'd be doing everything in my power to make sure that this HT turns out to be as good as it possibly can, both in the recipient and in the donor. I'm a big gym goer as well but if I had strip surgery, I wouldn't be touching weights until the 2-3 month mark. Your body may feel good right now, but you could easily contribute to a stretched scar if you're not careful.

Most people who return to the gym 2 weeks after their HT would have had FUE performed.

Have you informed your doc that you returned to heavy weights so soon?

Thanks for the comment and I would agree from all I have read that what you are saying is accurate; however the Doctor said I could return to the gym after about 10 days; the closure was excellent as you can see from the photos and I do not feel any pulling or tugging on the area when I train, if I did I would stop immediately the trixofitic closure seems to be a very modern way to do things; and I think that the best advice anyone can take is to take it slow, if they do not feel any pulling on the area and experience no discomfort what so ever then why not train?

I am concerned that after 7 days I started rubbing the crusts off as I was told and some of the crusts came off with hairs attached, I was told this is normal and not to worry. But I worry

no, it has been a bit more like the other ones in your photo in the background, but some of them did not have crusts, maybe about 25 percent of the new hairs have fallen out in the last three days; I have not experienced any bleeding but some of the scabs were red.

I wanted to upload a couple pictures today. The pictures are in my folder as I don't know how to post in the message. I am really happy with the donor area; as mentioned I began exercising a week ago and have not had any problems with the area. Just patiently waiting and hoping for growth. About 30% of transplanted hairs fell out about day 11 or 12.
