Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted February 24, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted February 24, 2013 Consult with some top doctors You should try propecia to help stop any further loss... 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Wrote a book for newbies called Beating Hair Loss, available on Amazon
Senior Member Shampoo Posted February 24, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted February 24, 2013 baokar1 as Tommy suggests...consult with some top doctors. In the meantime if you used Nanogen daily on your crown...the bald spot will "disappear". Nanogen is a bit pricey, but if it would be within your budget you could use Nanogen to easily cover your crown spot until you decide on surgery. Be sure and get the Nanogen and the Nanogen locking mist. You will be shocked at how well it works on your crown. https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/product/ST-112/Nanogen-Nanofibres/ https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/category/Acc0/Accessories/ Dr. Dow Stough - 1000 Grafts - 1996 Dr. Jerry Wong - 4352 Grafts - August 2012 Dr. Jerry Wong - 2708 Grafts - May 2016 Remember a hair transplant turns back the clock, but it doesn't stop the clock. Regular Member Hair2d2 Posted February 24, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted February 24, 2013 Try Propecia to stop hair loss. It doesn't look that bad. Stick it out and let Propecia do it's thing way before consulting a doctor. As you get older if it is bothering you then a HT would be a viable thing to do, but as it stands now and not being on Propecia you shouldn't do a HT. Senior Member 1978matt Posted February 24, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted February 24, 2013 Agree with Hair2d2. Preserve those grafts for when you really need it. Your hair looks ok at the moment and any transplant to the crown would be a waste. Save the donor for the hairline in the future. If you can get cheap concealers they would work wonders 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

Senior Member gillenator Posted March 4, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted March 4, 2013 Nanogen is a cosmetic conceraler and a good option considering the extent of the diffusion and current level of hairloss in your crown. Are you going to be concerned with your receding hairline if it continues to move south? Your crown would take up alot of donor and what would be left for the frontal zone? Something to think about.
