Shapiro Medical-7 Months Medical Therapy Only Result

KRED2 recently had a 2300+ strip procedure with Dr. Ron Shapiro.

He has a write up on this thread:

KRED2 was on Propecia and Rogaine Foam for 7 months before his hair transplant procedure. He felt there was a significant enough improvement with just the meds alone that he felt it was worth sharing.

I agree Jotronic that there is a subtle difference.

However, ideally I think the lighting and background could have been kept a bit closer to constant to gauge the real cosmetic difference.

2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK.

Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.

there is a difference, will the new hairs surive the hairtransplant, the combo of the transplantred hairs and growth from propecia should give a very nice result in 8 to 12 months time. two questions for you, 1, in your exeperiece at smg does patients on propecia before surgery have less donor shock loss from surgery ? 2, if a patient has one area worked on , say hairline, will he or she expect shockloss in midscsaalp or crown ,if on propecia.? thnks for reading.

I agree it would have been ideal if the lighting could have been more similar. The time of day when the pics are taken is a factor and how much the light that goes into each picture is something that we can't seem to control. I always like putting the side by side pics together when the "before" lighting is darker.....

Sad,

1) Yes, I believe patients are less likely to experience shock loss when on hairloss meds.

2) It's unusual to experience shockloss in non-transplanted areas, however, its not to say it can't happen. Again, I believe hairloss meds will help minimize your chances of shock loss.

Thanks for your feedback, Joe. How's Mr. G?

Hairthere,

He is currently 27.

It's always a bonus to achieve more hairs with just meds. It's still a positive effect if patients can maintain their existing hairs, which he definately has. Hopefully, KRED2 will continue with his medical therapy without any side effects. It would be nice to see all those miniaturized hairs reversed to strong healthy hairs.
