Senior Member MAGNUMpi Posted December 26, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 26, 2012 Hey, Just wondering about Laxity. The skin on the back of my head is TIGHT. It doesn't move around very much at all when I try with my thumbs. Does this mean that if I go FUT my scar is more likely to stretch?
Senior Member Thehairupthere Posted December 26, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 26, 2012 It certainly can. It's not a major concern though because the doctor only takes what he can in terms of strip laxity. There are stretches you can do to increase laxity which I suggest you do for a few weeks to a month before a procedure. I am a consultant for Dr. True and Dr. Dorin. These opinions are my own. Senior Member Jotronic Posted December 26, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 26, 2012 Magnumpi, If the strip taken exceeds what the laxity can give then yes the scar would be likely to stretch. Senior Member MAGNUMpi Posted December 26, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted December 26, 2012 Thanks Guys, Thanks Joe, After doing these exercises the skin in the back of my scalp will become looser giving the doctor more to work with (even starting with a tight scalp). OR is this only really to help the doctor get more grafts to work with and wont necessarily effect the possibility of reducing the scar stretching if I have a naturally tight scalp? Just want to make sure I understand. Thanks, M.
Senior Member gillenator Posted December 26, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 26, 2012 The added laxity or gain in laxity will help with both issues, allow for more grafts to be harvested and also help avoid a wider than would be strip scar.
