A little concerned about many HT "candidates"

Hey guys,

Before I continue, please understand that I am a huge fan of what the best Dr?s are achieving in terms of results right now. It is incredible.

But, that dreaded but, I am genuinley concerned for many patients posting here, regarding their progression, or lack there of hairloss, and their age. This site is an absolute godsend to me and thousands others, due to the recommendation and evaluation process of Dr?s, and undoubtedly the Dr?s definately have the patients best interests at heart, and are looking out for them. And, obviously the Dr?s?knowledge far exceeds my own. But it is worrying when patients post their post HT photos showing minimal loss, and I mean minimal, and are in their early 20?s sometimes younger. Yet have undergone a HT, with upwards of 2-3k grafts in the first few cms of their hairline. Hopefully, every case has been evaluated perfectly and none of these guys will have "bigger" problems in the future.

Ultimately, of course the decision lies in the hands if the patient, hopefully a well informed one. But is it worth the donor scar to thicken up that ever so slightly thinning hairline. Everybody experiences differing emotions with their personal level or hairloss, and only they know how they feel. But there must be some level of realism and sense maintained.

What do you guys think? I am so excited and positive about the HT process and consistent results that are being achieved these days, and in my 600+ posts, this is by far my most negative, but I assure you that I am not one of those typical haters.

My HT is coming up in October with Dr Rahal, and along with the obvious nerves I cant wait. Just wanted to share my concerns.

Your concerns are very valid! Hair transplant physicians can tell a lot about a patient by their family history and miniaturization testing. Plus with the discovery of Finasteride they can take bigger gambles.

Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily

Avodart 0.5 mg. daily

Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily

5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily

Biotin 1000 mcg daily

Multi Vitamin daily

Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? :D

I am 33 with a decent head of hair and struggle with this same thing.

I would rather be bald than look like I had an ht because of lack of donor.

I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians.
