taka
I had FUE surgery with Dr. Paul Shapiro and Shapiro Medical Group in Bloomington, MN about a week ago. I flew into Minneapolis Wednesday, June 6th, had the bulk of my surgery on Thursday, June 7th, and finished up on Friday, June 8th. I flew out on June 9th. Graft count approached 1700 or so. Graft/Hair count: 1787/3623 1's: 447 2's: 844 3's: 496 Dr. Paul described my hair loss as Norwood 2 to 3A. I was a norwood 0 before I started taking testosterone in December 2005. It took a year or two for my hair to take a "normal" adult male hair line, and then it took me until 2010 to realize that the reason I was becoming more and more unhappy with my hair from 2008, 2009. is because it was thinning like mad. I stopped taking testosterone in 2010. I posted my experiences around my surgery, my trip, and will keep posting about things related to healing/growth/results in the following journal, with a few more photos: takahawka I'll try to find a less busy background for future pics. Senior Member Spanker Posted June 16, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 16, 2012 Nice. Do you have any pre op pics? Looks like a rather large area for 1700 but it is hard to tell I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Senior Member Janna Posted June 19, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2012 Thanks Taka for creating a thread so that we can follow your progress. I feel I should mention that Taka requested a "superhero" mask to hide his identity. Yes, he's a funny guy. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted June 19, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 19, 2012 Woah! I can't believe Spiderman didn't want to hide his identity for his hair transplant. I mean, he hides it for everything else! Taka, looks good. You have a good head of hair already and it should look just about perfect after this procedure grows in. Quick question, are you on Fin? taka
Hi Janna. No problem. Aaron, what can I say. Spiderman is not ashamed of this. I am not taking fin. I did take it for a few months after making the decision to quit taking testosterone, back in 2010. My hair loss slowed and stopped, and it stayed that way after I stopped taking finasteride, as well. The person who currently cuts my hair said it improved a little, although I couldn't really tell. orlhair1: I like the mask, too. It turned out great. David: Thank you, and will do.
