Senior Member Thehairupthere Posted June 4, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 4, 2012 Not sure about the UK but here insurance is not accepted because its an elective cosmetic procedure. Raphael84
What does that mean exactly? That there is no point in taking out insurance because it wont cover such a procedure? Senior Member Thehairupthere Posted June 4, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 4, 2012 It means insurance will not cover any costs for this procedure, so if that's what you had in mind don't buy any I am a consultant for Dr. True and Dr. Dorin. Senior Member 1978matt Posted June 4, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted June 4, 2012 I looked in to insurance a while ago. I don't believe there is any UK broker that offers it for HTs. The best insurance you can have is to go to a reputable doctor such as the ones in the coalition. If the results don't turn out as was promised I'm sure all of them would offer a second procedure for free. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day
Dr. Glenn Charles
In the past there where a few insurance company's here in the US that wrote policies for certain cosmetic surgical procedures. I do not think they exist anymore. Dr. Glenn Charles is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
Regular Member Cartesian Posted June 5, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted June 5, 2012 I am very certain that there are no insurance companies that would cover HT. I did a lot of research on it.
Raphael84
I did not expect any insurance policy to cover any cost of the HT just to clarify. Im asking regarding medical cover, incase necessary. I have a HT scheduled in October with Rahal, and have been recommended by the clinic to have international health insurance? Was looking for a few ideas but am a little confused now. So, to you guys who have posted, are you saying that nothing is necessary?
