I am currently 2 weeks post op and some of the transplanted hairs have shed , Id say about 50%. My naitive hair is still intact. Ive heard that 5 weeks is the maximum and if this is reached then its a strong possibility that it wont happen. Can anyone confirm this. Senior Member Thehairupthere Posted March 14, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted March 14, 2012 Everyone is different, it can start as early as the following day after surgery but typically people experience it within the first 4-5 weeks. It's not very common to see shock loss after that time frame but could happen. Remember that shock loss is temporary if the hair was healthy prior to treatment, but if it was miniaturized then it's less likely to survive. I am a consultant for Dr. True and Dr. Dorin. Senior Member iwokeuptoabaldpatch Posted March 18, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted March 18, 2012 u will be fine either way bro. 4 months ago it was me on here saying I had suffered terrible recipient area shock loss and also more alarmingly donor area shock loss in the form of balf patches on the side of my head!! Ive got a bit of donor shock as well beneath the scare line. Young doc - Im sure in the hands of a good surgeon, small amount of work it will be ok. Id rather have 3 smaller sessions than a large one if it meant avoiding shockloss in the recipient area. The only draw back is the cost !! I used a bit of the wifes make up for the donor area , no one has said a thing. HT No1 : Nobel clinic, Gatwick 500 grafts - Terrible result, left with bumpy skin HT No2 : Marwan Saifi 1680 grafts. The amount of shock loss is a indicator of the general health of the patients hair at the time of the procedure. I would say about 70% of the transplanted hair has nowdissapeared but I still have my native hair. If I can hang on for the nexy week or so , then I should be ok !! Also I don't use minoxidil anymore I lost no hair coming off it. Reduced propecia to 1mg every other day. My surgeons were Dr Hasson x 4, Dr Wong x 2 Norton x1 I started losing my hair at 19 in 1999 I started using propecia and minoxidil in 2000 Had 7 hair transplants over 12200 grafts by way of strip but 700 were Fue From Norton in uk Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
