Regular Member MillionHair Posted February 26, 2012 Regular Member Posted February 26, 2012 I'm a NW 4. I'm considering FUE of 2000+ grafts. What kind of results should I expect? I mostly want my hairline back and some on the crown. Has anybody in a similar situation went on to have HT? and how satisfied are you so far?
Senior Member Dutch Posted February 26, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 26, 2012 I think you will need closer to 3.5-4k grafts to be satisfied with the results but all depends on your expectations. 2k is not enough for a large area http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329
Regular Member MillionHair Posted February 27, 2012 Author Regular Member Posted February 27, 2012 I mostly want the front third (maybe less ) of my head covered. I know it wont be dense like before. I'm guessing 2k grafts would be enough to get the job done. no?
Senior Member Spanker Posted February 27, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 27, 2012 No. You should probably do more research. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted February 27, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 27, 2012 MillionHair, I suggest having a look at these patient photos by Norwood classification. Here you can get an idea of what is possible given a specific number of grafts. David - Former Forum Co-Moderator and Editorial Assistant I am not a medical professional. Regular Member Dr. Glenn Charles Posted February 27, 2012 Regular Member Posted February 27, 2012 Photos of your current situation would be necessary to accurately answer your question. What are your hair characteristics? ( ex. color or courseness) How many sq. cm in each area does the grafting need to be done in? Senior Member orlhair1 Posted February 27, 2012 Senior Member Posted February 27, 2012 Photos would help, but if you spread 2000 grafts around your frontal area and your crown, I don't think it is likely you will get your desired outcome at your level of loss. I think the suggestions from the other posters that you would need 3 - 4k grafts is accurate. Surgery - Dr. Ron Shapiro FUT 6/14/11 - 3048 grafts Surgery - Dr. Ron Shapiro FUE 1/28/13 & 1/29/13 - 1513 grafts http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/orlhair1
