Senior Member bonkerstonker Posted November 15, 2011 Senior Member Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) I'm coming up to 8 months and i have loads of red spots in my scar from the tricho hairs attempting to break through the scar but they can't get through does anyone know how to get them through. I've been told by my clinic to pull the tricho hairs out of the spots but they're not far enough through to pull and i've also tried a hot flannel against them that's quite useless too. Thank you Edited November 17, 2011 by bonkerstonker Bonkerstonker! http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=1977 Update I'm now on 12200 Grafts, hair loss has been a thing of my past for years. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted November 15, 2011 Senior Member Posted November 15, 2011 I don't know what to suggest other than just wait it out. They'll eventually grow and pop through - though it still might be a painful process. Two surgeries I had tricho done and I also got a bit a irritation in the scar with the hairs. I didn't like tricho much so my last surgery we just did double-layer instead. Thank you Bonker I would love to see some updated pictures of your donor scar, I know you've had some issues with it! Where are you as far as shock loss with your scar now? I looked at your website, but it appears you don't have any new photos of your donor scare..Thanks Newhairplease!! Senior Member bonkerstonker Posted November 16, 2011 Author Senior Member Posted November 16, 2011 Unfortunately my scar is very thick it's between 3mm to 5mm at it's widest, why this has happened i do not know but i did everything right so that's life these things happen. My barber cuts my hair in a way so it's very long above my scar covering the scar which works well but if my hair moves with wind or if i touch it you see the thick scar line a mile away. Regular Member Dr. Glenn Charles Posted November 17, 2011 Regular Member Posted November 17, 2011 Was your trichophytic closure also done with two layers? Unfortunetly, even tricho closure done under high tension can leave a wide scar. There are many patients in your same situation that is leaving them with a lot of problems 6-12 months post-op. Can you revisit your doctor and have them take a look and see if there is anything they can do? Dr. Glenn Charles is a member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted November 17, 2011 Senior Member Posted November 17, 2011 Cheers mate. Were they like red pimples in the scar you had did they ever calm down? Hmm... hard to say. There was some irritation but I'm not sure if it was due to ingrown hairs or not. It did eventually calm down. I just felt that the hair growing through the scar didn't really do much to obfuscate it. Those hairs are of much better use on top of my head. Strangely my scalp is very baggy even after the op you can visibaly see the extra scalp so it wasn't due to high tension i suppose there's no way of knowing what caused it but hw have said they'll fix it so i'll just leave the staples in for a month this time to make sure.
