Spotted my first "good" HT today

I was at work today and spotted a man today with an up to date micro graft HT. He was about a NW6 and he had light coverage all over the top. His sides were very short and I could see the scar as well.

I couldn't tell if this was his full result or if he was just starting to grow it in.

I really wanted to ask him about it but I chickened out. The funny thing is, unless you were connected to the HT is some way, no one would have known. The guy looked balding but not bald.

He was a worker but he didn't have a badge on so I don't know if he is a doctor or a drug rep or what.

I really really wanted to ask about it but didn't want to embarass him or myself, so I didn't say anything. Oh well.

I've seen 3 men with transplants recently. One had a really nice curved hairline. He had it trimmed down to a number 2 buzz, so the scar was exposed. The other man had a short but high scar. He seemed very confident.

The third guy in my gym, he had the scar showing but recently he's been wearing a baseball cap all the time. So he can't be you happy with it. I keep wanting to ask him but don't want to embarrass him!

Dumb question, but - why do people who have had transplants cut their hair short enough to see the scar? Why not cut it right to the length where it would almost be visible and leave it at that? That's what I've done for 10 years. Only once did I get it cut so short that the scar was sort of visible, but even that was only exposed if you really knew what to look for.

Yeah Spanker, I've had the exact same thing happen to me. I noticed this older gentleman who lives around me. I saw him a few months ago and saw a darkened scar in the back. I was going to ask him about it and who did the work for him but I chickened out. I saw him walking today and I couldn't see the scar anymore. He had a good frontal third but a slick bald crown. To me that is a dead give away that it's a transplant, regardless whether the scar is evident or not. But his transplanted hair looked pretty good.

Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013

Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020

Because when your sides are long it makes your top look thinner. I find a happy medium where only a ht informed person would know what the scar was, obviously when my shockloss is gone it will be easier to hide and my top should be thicker so i can grow the sides long anyway.

Bonkerstonker! :D

When I was waiting for my flight at Seattle Tacoma Airport a guy was sitting behind my and I noticed two scar lines on the back of his head. the lower one was longer than the higher one and they were like 2 inches or so apart.

It was evident he had a HT, and it looked like it wasnt that good so he kept his head shaven.
