Senior Member Athena Posted April 29, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 29, 2011 (edited) He was a Class III on the Norwood scale of hair loss. He was concerned about his frontal hairline, temples and the midfront area thinning. We concentrated on the frontal area. Even though we recommended medical treatment to prevent or slow down future hairloss he chose not to use any. these are before and after pictures. Senior Member Athena Posted April 29, 2011 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 29, 2011 This patient just came in for a follow up a few days ago. Needless to say that he was very happy with the results. He likes to style his hair combing down, but we took some pictures combing up so you can get an idea of how full it actually is. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted April 30, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 30, 2011 ana, Thanks for posting! His transformation is impressive. I have no doubt that he is thrilled. Senior Member RCWest Posted April 30, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 30, 2011 The hairline really is natural and thick. Those 2400 grafts were utilized perfectly. It bothers me though that people want the transplants but refuse the medication. It only hurts them in the long run. Finasteride 1.25 mg. daily Avodart 0.5 mg. daily Spironolactone 50 mg twice daily 5 mg. oral Minoxidil twice daily Biotin 1000 mcg daily Multi Vitamin daily Damn, with all the stuff you put in your hair are you like a negative NW1? Senior Member Athena Posted April 30, 2011 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 30, 2011 Thanks for the complements. He is 24 years old. We had a long discussion before his surgery about doing the surgery at a young age. He came in a few times before the procedure, last time with a parent. As for the medication, it was also discussed in full detail about consequences of not using any. We try to encourage it but the patient always has the final say. Senior Member futbol9 Posted May 27, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted May 27, 2011 Hello there. I do know if you can help me out. I already schedule my operation with both doctors, but I need to put my deposit tomorrow for one of the two. doctor alexander from Arizona gave me a great discount, same with doctor meshkin from newport california. they both gave me the same price exept that dr. Alexander will be placing 2300 grafts and dr. Meshkin will be placing 3000 grafts. I will be paying the same amount of money for ethier transplant . I know dr alexanders work is very good, what do you think about doctor Meshkin? I am also only 5 hours away from doctors meshkin office driving, and 9 hours from Dr. Alexander in Arizona. thank you By the way I been told by many doctors around the world that I need between 2500 and 2700. Thanks
Senior Member HARIRI Posted May 27, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted May 27, 2011 futbol9, Dr. Meskin is great, no doubt about it. But Dr. Alexander is superior. Alexander's work is very impressive if you check his website in the network and his own persoanl website as well. One of the moderators in this network had his HT with him (TakingThePlunge). I strongly recommend you to go with Dr. Alexander based on the results I have seen from both doctors. Good luck. Senior Member Athena Posted May 28, 2011 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 28, 2011 I agree that both doctors work are very impressive, I definately suggest that you look at the pictures that are posted in this forum and decide on your own. Senior Member Dutch Posted May 28, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted May 28, 2011 Very impressive again from Dr Meshkin no doubt, especially with the number of grafts used. He'll need meds for the future though considering he's so young and had quite a lot of hairloss so early on, so meds will be almost essential. Everyone to their own I guess. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329
Regular Member unclejesse777 Posted May 28, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted May 28, 2011 Futbol9, I would try and see as many pictures of results from patients of both doctors before making a final decision. Obviously if the quality of one doctor's work appears to be superior, that is the way to go. However, if there doesn't really appear to be much of a difference, and the work of both look impressive to you, then I would go with Meshkin, as you would be getting an extra 700 grafts for the same price, which would increase your density. Good luck.
Senior Member Atomic Posted May 30, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted May 30, 2011 Again great results but it would be nice if we could see the immediate post op pics so we can see how the hair was distributed.
