Senior Member Cant decide Posted April 3, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 3, 2011 I would say it is a good time. Especially if you have been able to stabilize with meds. Senior Member Dutch Posted April 3, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 3, 2011 Definitely a good time for it. Go for it if you're ready. It's not like you're at an early stage of hair loss. Good luck http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329
Regular Member Atlanta Posted April 3, 2011 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 3, 2011 i never used any meds. worried about sexual side effects with propecia.
Senior Member Dutch Posted April 3, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 3, 2011 Don't just take into account what you've heard about propecia. Everyone is different. I took it & having been doing so for about 3 years & no problems. You can even take it every other day, or take half a tablet a day if you're worried http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329
Senior Member corvettester Posted April 3, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) I totally understand about the meds. However, if your only concern is about the sexual side effects, it may be worth it to give it a try and see if it effects you. If so, quite immediately. At least then you'll know. As per your age, I think you're definitely at a good age. I had mine when I was 29. I know of others who had it done in their mid twenties. Senior Member mattj Posted April 4, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 4, 2011 You are a good age for a transplant, but the right time comes after you've done enough reading on the subject. By the way your profile says you were born in 1980. That's my year of birth too, and unless I fell asleep for 8 years last night, I'm not 38 yet. I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member ziggy00 Posted April 4, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted April 4, 2011 Sounds like the right time but you might want to consider meds. If you go in for a consultation, the doc can probably explain more about them and the risks to you.
Regular Member GRIGRIMAN Posted April 7, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted April 7, 2011 I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 37 this year, same norwood scale I think and I don't take meds. I'm thinking about taking them and thinking about surgery with Dr Bisanga. I'm been researching the topic for the last three months and learing all the time.
