Regular Member NorwoodScale Posted January 23, 2011 Regular Member Share Posted January 23, 2011 I was listening to the doctor who was doing the experiments with acell and plucking hair. And he said there was another doctor who would experiment by transplanting plucked beard hair into the scalp and he'd have low success rate even with the plucked beard whiskers without any acell. Since there was a limited survival rate even without acell, I'm guessing if acell were used on the beard whiskers there might be an extremely high survival rate and thus donor from the beard area would be unlimited. I don't know. What do you guys think?

Senior Member HARIRI Posted January 25, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted January 25, 2011 Well when you do an HT make sure to ask the doctor not to implant more than 50 FU/cm2.. Any person could supply blood to these. Just dont risk above that cause it doesnt work for everybody. 40 fu/cm2 still would make you look good. Senior Member ej Posted January 25, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted January 25, 2011 Hariri I had less than 30 `plucked` hairs per sq cms , it has nothing to do with blood supply and everything to do with the fact that this is an experimental treatment , hence caution is needed until there are results to prove that this is a viable option regards ej
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted January 26, 2011 Senior Member Share Posted January 26, 2011 Norwood, ACell is a technology presented to our community by Coalition hair transplant surgeon Dr. Jerry Cooley, and after his explanation, our community offered a review/explanation of the ACell technology and Coalition surgeon Dr. Rassman is now conducting ACell trials in his Los Angeles office. I think reviewing this information should give you a pretty good idea of how this therapy works and it's potential from here.
