Senior Member Mercury Posted August 8, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 8, 2010 It looks like some clean work, but isn't it important to make the hairline irregular. I'm looking at the immediate photos and the grafts were put in as straight as an arrow? From my observations, most docs are putting the hairs in the front in an up and down pattern - this patient is as straight as I've ever seen. Just my observation Life is like a game of cards. Senior Member Danielkiwi Posted August 8, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 8, 2010 Congratulations on the good job doc..i had a question regarding the scar...in small sessions like these, how long is the scar...is it still from ear to ear or pretty much just on the back of the head
Senior Member Dr. Richard Keller Posted August 10, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 10, 2010 RCWest, Mercury and Danielkiwi, Thank you for your positive comments. Hairlines are created differently with different ethnic hair styles, head shapes and desires. In my practice a patient's hairline usually follows their natural hairline prior to surgery. I also customize the length of the donor region with the desired number of grafts. In some, with less laxity, a longer two layer tricophytic scar has less tension and creates a better cosmetic closure. This concept is especially important for those who wear shorter hair styles. Regular Member FrankyKnuckles Posted August 13, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted August 13, 2010 great result, but is this a strip procedure? if so do you offer FUE (procedure without long scar in back of head)? i am a little confused of the variations on the acronyms used by docs as FUT means one thing to one doc and something else completely to another doc. Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted August 13, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 13, 2010 Franky, I'm not aware of any variation in terms. FUT is Follicular Unit Transplantation and should always be used to refer to a standard strip procedure. FUE, of course, is Follicular Unit Extraction.
