Senior Member waveskier Posted July 20, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 20, 2010 I am 5 days PO, and I still don't have all the feeling back in my scalp above the donor site. My physician says feeling will return to this area eventually. I am just wondering if others have had this same feeling? Thanks in advance! Senior Member Fingers Crossed Posted July 21, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2010 It's completely normal. I'm 6 months PO and I'm finally numbness free. For me, it started to subside around the 3rd and 4th months. My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Hasson

Senior Member waveskier Posted July 21, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2010 Wow, did not know it was supposed to last that long. I do have a long list of Q's for my doctor on Monday when I get the sutures removed.
Senior Member Tao Posted July 21, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 21, 2010 After my first surgery, I was quite shocked when my head was still numb 6 months out. It was a really strange sensation and i was a little worried it would stay like that. Eventually the nerves heal and things get back to normal though. For some, it happens quickly, and for others, it can take quite a while. Curiously enough, I'm about a month out from my second surgery and the numbness this time has already subsided. Moderators Al - Moderator Posted July 22, 2010 Moderators Share Posted July 22, 2010 It's 16 years since my last HT (21 years since the first one) and my entire recipient area is still mostly numb. It seems to be improving very slowly the past few years. The donor area is a bit better, but still some numbness in spots. Senior Member waveskier Posted July 22, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 22, 2010 My donor site is only numb above the incision, below feels normal, is that the norm? At the incision where the staple are it is somewhat sensitive. Can't wait to get the staples removed.
