Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted July 1, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 1, 2010 Janna, Thank you for presenting this case. The cosmetic improvement is quite significant, and the work looks very natural and refined. Nicely done! Senior Member TakingThePlunge Posted July 2, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 2, 2010 Janna, In my opinion this is an excellent cosmetic improvement for this patient. I also think the hairstyle suits him. Thank you for posting. David - Former Forum Co-Moderator and Editorial Assistant I am not a medical professional. Senior Member Janna Posted July 7, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) When I picture a "combover", the hairs are typically parted past the normal parting line to gather as much hair as possible to cover over a bald patch. This patient feels fortunate he no longer has to contend with a balding head of hair and has styling options. Although, he finds he still combs his hair the way he did before his ht with SMG. We took two video shots - one of the top and one of his donor scar. His donor scar is excellent, even after two surgeries. It's difficult to tell much of anything in that video. The quality of the video declined when it was saved on photobucket of his results but it may be worth a look anyway. http://s748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/SHAPIROMEDICAL/?action=view¤t=Movie_0002.mp4 Edited July 7, 2010 by Janna Patient Care Services & UK Patient Advisor for Shapiro Medical Dr. Ron Shapiro, Dr. Paul Shapiro and Dr. David Josephitis are members of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. http://shapiromedical.com/info@shapiromedical.com http://shapiromedical.com/contact/request-a-consultation/janna@shapiromedical.com
Senior Member Danielkiwi Posted July 7, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted July 7, 2010 Hi Janna We did not mean to say that this was a literal combover. So, apologies if my post came across that way...The result is really very good...this is a great example for some newbies to see how a HT actually creates an illusion of density (might never have a true head of hair) as you can still see some skin through the transplanted hair....having said all that if the patient is happy i dont think anything else matters and hats off to you Janna for showing the results from all possible angles..i am sure this procedure could have been presented an an extreme wow result but i respect your transparency

If we present false results, our patients are going to expect false results as well. We want patients who have realistic, reasonable expectations. We believe it's the only way we are going to produce happy patients. What suits one person about their appearance may not be right for another. For instance, this patient does not feel he needs any nanogen or toppik. We at SMG are proud to have met this patient's goals. There's nothing like seeing a patient grinning from ear to ear with their results. Thanks everyone for your comments. Dr. Glenn Charles
Once again Dr. Ron Shapiro has another very happy patient. I cannot imagine anyone ever asking this guy if he has had a hair transplant. Very solid results. Good job Ron and staff.
