I have been reading these forums for years now and I have never signed up until just a few minutes ago.

First I want to thank everyone who has offered their opinions and also Bill, I honestly dont know how he can keep up with every discussion, he must have an iPhone App for this site!

Yesterday I went in to Doctor Pathomvanich and he and his staff were very lovely.

I was a bit scared before because I have never gotten surgery, but everyone was gentle and it really went by fast.

I have always had receded temples since I was about 15, im 25 now, they havent changed much at all since, so I had lots of donor hair thankfully.

I forget the exact number but I believe it was about 2800 grafts and I just came back from the post opt shampooing.

I am now wearing a headband only to prevent swelling, however I have no swelling, and no pain. The only pain I had was the first night after surgery. Thank Buddha for the Valiums!

I really cannot say enough good things about Dr. Path, he is a great doctor and I believe he is an artist when it comes to drawing hairlines.

I know that its too early to tell what will become of my transplant as of now, but I am optimistic and will remain positive that it will achieve the outcome that I am looking for.

Just to add some background, I have seen 3 top NYC hair restoration experts and finally decided on Path.

I hope my post can help some of the people out there who are looking to have their hair done.

I will add pictures soon, I want to remain anonymous so I will have to blur out my face and eyes and all that other stuff when I have time.

hi there!

i am going to Dr Path in may! Seriously i was hoping someone can give me bad feedback but i am so glad so far i did not hear any bad press!

However, i had a friend who just had HT done half a yr ago and his scar still seems red and slightly bigger than i hoped it was. and hair was not really growing out of the scar which i tote it would be cos of the tricophytic closure

So honestly i was slightly affected and would be more than happy to get in touch with Dr Pat's past patients!

Do post more photos ya!!

Yes, I will post pics really soon. I am too busy having fun in Thailand at moment. I will most certainly come back soon because I have some lovely friends from England that live here now.

The stitches wont be taken out until another 4 days or so. Very little pain. I wear my hair very long, past my shoulders, so nobody would even think that I got a hair transplant because I have hidden it so well for several years.

Ok, I am about to wash my hair for the very first time by myself with baby-shampoo. Wish me luck!

PathsPatient,

Congratulations on your recent hair transplant and for selecting a world class doctor. Dr. Pathomvanich has an excellent reputation and a number of his satisfied patients have posted their results on this community.

I actually do have an IPhone and occasionally check in on the forum while I'm out and about. Since everyone has gone mobiel, perhaps in the future we'll develop an IPhone and BlackBerry application for our community :-).

I look forward to seeing your pictures and following your progress. I'd encourage you to create a free patient website to document your progress with photos.

All the Best,

Bill

mission hair : oops! haha

Bill : wow u r really a hardworking moderator!

just curious on one thing, i have been on this site nearly everyday for the past half a yr and still trying to find out more abt HT and patients of dr Pat... so far, i was not able to find any patients of his who had any bad experience. Since u have been here for a long time, do u recall anyone who had been unsatisfied with his HT? Basically, i am all for going under the knife in may, but after seeing the scar of my friend's, i was really affected... but since i am in Asia, i do not really have the luxury of just flying to the states for a procedure. i mean, wat if there are complications? it will be much more inconvenient... however, Dr Pat has made it clear that he does not perform FUE these days ( not that i am against FUT but after seeing a scar in the flash, seriously i am having second thoughts)

your opinion? thanks!

Sorry that I havent added pics yet. I will in next day or so, still really busy. I am going out to sing and play guitar tonite. I know I had a hair transplant just a few days ago, but I feel fine.

I took pics every day since the surgery Monday, and even the scar is almost invisible and I still have stiches in my head!!

Doctor said it should be invisible in 4 months or so..

Thanks I had fun tonite. I played some songs, didnt really hurt, but I took it easy because I still have stitches in.

Saturday I get stitches taken out and will add all the pre op, and post opt pics from day 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of surgery.

Its a bit surreal how its already growing-I noticed, I know it will fall out soon, and I understand that is how it works, so I am not worried.

Its been 4 days and I am still wearing headband because I noticed some mild swelling above it, and the nurse I saw earlier in Path's office told me to keep wearing it for another day or so until it subsides.

On another note, this Pad Thai is good!

WB280,

Yes I think its wise to take special care, as I have, and especially for first 2 days. But I am unable to sit in a hotel room. Its hard enough for me not to do my normal exercises(running, tennis).

Anyways, Elephant riding was fun today.

I suppose I will add pictures right after I post this so you can see what a lovely hairline Dr. Pathomvanich had created.

Kind Regards

saw ur pics icon_smile.gif eerily similar to mine!

if i m not wrong, did u ask to lower the hairline? i reckon u do not ve that much loss in front but u wanted a lower hairline? correct me if i m wrong dude!

also, did Dr Pat shave off any part before the transplant? I cannot figure this out by looking at ur pics but the operated part seems clean and without existing hair, so i assumed he shaved off that part?

Hey Mich88 im from Melbourne and i've just started on this site and Dr Pth seems to be getting good reviews. Do you have any pix on a link or something. I cant seem to find it. I'm pretty nervous about the whole thing and also after care. Is there any after care or are you "on your own" so to speak?

Hi Again guys,

I am glad I can help with advice.

Luckily my friend helped bring me to hotel, however you can do it by yourself no problem. Also my friend took daily pics of my scar and grafts. Again, you can do it yourself no issue.

Stay at the All Seasons Hotel. The nearest stop is walking distance on the BTS Bangkok skytrain called 'Victory Monument Station'.

I really liked the hotel, it cost me the equivelent of about 500 AUS for 2 weeks time. And its only 2 short skytrain stations away. All Walking distance. Or about US 6, AUS 5 in taxi fare..At the very most. So very cheap. I was running late on surgery day and took a motorbike taxi and it cost me even less, and got me there quicker. Make sure you hold on tight.!!

The shaving was minimal to null. He only shaved very small sections where it was thinning to add density, and honestly 1 day after surgery, I have several pictures of doing activities and you cannot even tell I had a hair transplant. (My hair is usually pulled back in pony tail) My previous hair covered well. It just looked like I was wearing a headband for the sport of it. So it really all worked out.

I am back in my country now, my head looks great, I just showed a friend of mine, she was very skeptical about the whole process, but after seeing it in person she is very positive it will come out well.

If anyone has any more questions just let me know and I will be happy to help.

I will post more pictures shortly.
