  2. TF You have come to the right place. Research on this forums and you will gain a lot of knowledge. If you are losing hair in your crown area, Rogaine is your best bet before thinking of a HT. It works for some and it doesn't for some but you should continue using it for 4-6 months to see any visible results. I have had the exact same issue as you did with the foam. when I started it, I had a severe headache for 2-3 days and it went away gradually within the first week on starting it. For starts, try using a little less than the half-capfuls for a day or two and see if that still gives you headaches. If not, then switch to half-capfuls. Hope this helps.
  3. Sure thing mate...will keep "allocation extra in order".
  4. Very Informative...thanks for the links.
  5. mav, Some members on this forum were skeptical about meds that were not manufactured in the US. I personally have no problems with those meds.
  6. Hmm...I am on a broadband network and it was taking a while to load, but I assume that is just a temporary slowdown. The site reminds me of FB in a way that people are exchanging smiles with each other (like the poking concept in FB) and you can add friends etc.
  7. Hey, on a side note, I just saw your pics. While I am not sure if shaving down completely and applying Rogaine will help you in any way (I doubt if it would), I was curious to know if you considered using concealers for you crown.
  8. jspence09, I am not sure if I can post the link here, but I get my generic Finasteride from United Pharmacies. Google for it. Take a little time to deliver but the service is discreet and convenient, without the need for as 'scrip. Get Proscar if you are afraid of getting the "Made in India" stuff, I personally get the ones made in India because I trust the quality. I get Rogaine foam from Amazon for like 40 bucks for a 3 month supply. Like Ferrari-or-hair, I cannot say either drugs worked for me but I still use them just out of fear that I might lose more if I stop using them.
  9. Are you sure it is your transplanted hair that is falling out? That hair should be with you for life shouldn't it? It is possible that switching to generic Finasteride (cutting it into 4 pieces means an extra 0.25mg roughly) is causing some initial shedding on native hairs but it should stabilize soon.
  10. Fewer than 2% of men on Finasteride are reported to have side effects with it. If one of those few people posted a video on Youtube to show their discontent, would you really believe it when you have loads of men on this forum saying it has helped them as well? Try it for 1 or 2 months, see if it gives you any sides and decide on whether to continue on it or not. Surely a months usage cannot mess up one's whole life, given Finasteride's half-life in the human body is like 8 hours.
  11. First and foremost question: How old are you? The last pic (the styled one) does a good job of covering the receding hairline. If you are young and can manage to style your hair that way, you can go for a few years without a HT till your hair loss is mature enough (assuming you are below 30 now).
  12. Stay away from Bosley, Pistone, NuHart etc. I am not sure if they even do any FUEs.
  13. GK, Couple of suggestions: 1. Some topical liquids have propylene glycol which can cause mild skin irritation in some persons. Try looking for 5% minoxidil in some alternate brand names like CVS or Walgreen's which might be using something other that PG. 2. Nizoral shampoo also helps. 3-4 times a week. Hope this helps.
  14. When I started using Rogaine, I had severe headaches and dizziness for the first 2 days. It then went away gradually and I am now perfectly tolerant to minoxidil. But remember, it was for only 2 days, unlike 2 weeks in your case.
  15. I use Rogaine foam in the am ans Kirkland minox in the pm, because it is considerably inexpensive. Both have 5% minoxidil and that is what matters. It is of course another issue that neither the foam not the liquid had any sort of beneficial effect on me but I still keep using them (more than a year now) just hoping for a miracle. Stupid, I know!!!!
