1. @Steelworker - Nope. Did not get the recipient area shaved. And yes, no one can make out I had a transplant if i wear my hair long enough..
2. Have updated the website with 1 month pics. While I understand these are still early days, one can see slight growth on the temples. Roughly 50% of the grafts have stayed on (which is not a bad sign at all). Can't wait to see how things progress over the next few months.. Hair Restoration Site for mi$$ionHAIR
3. @ahmedabad_guy : While I was billed at 85 bahts/graft, I would recommend you to re-confirm the charges with them through email. @Others/Moderators : Any inputs on the pics posted earlier Hair Restoration Site for mi$$ionHAIR
4. After months (or years) of toying around with the idea of a transplant, I had scheduled an HT with Dr Pathomvanich for 3rd October. I am happy with the way the surgery was handled and am back in India now. Appended are the details of the surgery Date - 3 Oct 2011 Age - 27 years Total grafts - 2000 grafts (200 Single Hair, 1500 Double Hair, 300 Triple Hair) I plan to regularly document the progress on the following link. Would request others to please review and share their feedback Hair Restoration Site for mi$$ionHAIR
5. Guys I am planning to have a surgery in November this year. Unfortunately, I can only take a week off-work post surgery (infact my surgery is on a Tuesday and I rejoin work the following Monday). Roughly, how long does it take for the recepient area to heal and assume its natural look? By a natural look - I mean one can go safely about doing his stuff at work without anyone having the slightest clue about the HT. The nature of my work does not allow me to wear a hat to office. Any pointers on that would be great For reference - here is the link to the last set of pics that I took Hair Restoration Journal -45 days before scheduled surgery
6. djames - how is the ground situation. Have heard some rather discomforting news, with travel advises etc being revised. http://www.smartraveller.gov.a...view/Advice/Thailand Hope you are doing fine and safe. I am getting slightly worried whether I should go ahead with my trip as the advise has been downgraded from "High degree of caution" to "Reconsider your need to travel"
7. As people are aware, the situation is Bangkok at this point of time is slightly tricky. While this is not a situation any of us would have wished for, I would like to hear the ground reality and the suggested extent of caution from someone who is based out of Bangkok. Anyone on this forum from BKK? I had booked Abloom Service apartments (which is just a station north of Victory Monument) for the first 3 days. Now, that Victory Monument is on the "places to avoid" list on most travel advisories - I wonder how safe it is to stay there. Any insights? Also, I had initially planned to stay in Bangkok till May 7th (arriving on 30th, surgery scheduled on 1st). I was wondering if in view of the current situation - it makes sense to reschedule my departure for May 4th (the sutures and the stitches can probably be taken off back home). Anybody here who has tried that? Can some experts comment/recommend?

9. any update djames from the doctor? Are you going ahead with your plans? The situation has got slightly more serious, with clashes and declaration of a national emergency. I am scheduled for a surgery on 30th April.
10. Hi James Nice to hear from someone who would be in Bangkok the same time as me. Have heard only good reviews about the Bangkok Loft Inn. I had checked with Dr. Path on a similar query - he advised that I should stay indoors as far as possible (preferably under air conditioning), to avoid sweating too much. Remember, April-May are the hottest months in Thailand. While, you might want to pick up a bit of tan - I would suggest you stay away as much as possible. Once you are back you can simply tell people that it was too hot to step out during the day, so you kept indoors. Alternatively, you can also pay a visit to one of those artificial tanning places.
11. Guys As my date approaches, I have updated my hair-blog with latest pics. These can be accessed at http://www.hairtransplantnetwo...opyID=5276&WebID=953 I am looking for advice on the number of grafts, kind of coverage and hairline that I should go for. Grateful if ppl can give their inputs.
12. Guys Just made a reservation in Abloom from 30th April. Will be there till May 4th. Had shortlisted it down to the following 4 places and shared with Dr. Path. It seems Abloom is the closest among these to Dr Path's clinic - which works well for me since I would be arriving in Bangkok only on the day of the surgery a. Grand Tower Inn Rama VI b. Royal View Resort c. Abloom Exclusive Apartments (29 Phahonyothin Soi 3 Phayathai, Bangkok) d. Mystic Place (224/5-9, 224/11-18 Pradipat Rd., Samsennai, Phayathai, Bangkok)
13. @Ultimate - I haven't been to Bangkok yet, and I am pretty much in the same state as you - looking for hotels. However so far, I haven't read many good reviews hotels near Dr. Path's Clinic Somehow, Sena Place Hotel doesn't seem to have that great reviews on the net. Although, I haven't stayed ever- I might be wrong. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Sho...tml#CHECK_RATES_CONT I plan to visit Bangkok in May, which would make the days pretty hot - so venturing out before evenings does not seem to be an option. On the other hand, with the HT - I am not sure if I want to stay too far away from Dr. Path's clinic either. My budget is around $60/day. Has anyone stayed at the Royal View Resort Rangnam? (it has decent reviews). @Mich - Bangkok Loft Inn also sounds fabulous. It has some pretty awesome reviews. Would you know how far it is from Dr. Path's clinic? Btw, dont know if you have this list of hotels near Dr. Path's clinic. Prices in braces are at best indicative 1. Mido Hotel (1400 - 1600 Bahts/day) 2. Karnmanee Hotel (1400 Bahts/day) 3. Sofitel Centrara Grand (3700 Bahts/day) 4. Siam City Hotel (125 USD/day) 5. Grand Tower Inn rama 6. Sena Place (1800 Bahts/day) 7. Vie Hotel (3000 Bahts/day) 8. Royal View Resort (1500-1600 Bahts/day)
14. Mich - thanks for your post. I guess you are right at pointing out that uncertainty remains my biggest issue. Obviously, a lot of people have reassured me on various fronts - and I am yet to hear a sorry story about Dr. Path (touchwood). But as with any medical procedure, you keep worrying about anything that might go wrong. However, I have taken a small step towards making a commitment to HT. I have booked 3rd May as the day of surgery with Dr. Path. My issues at work are more or less resolved and god-willing, in exactly two months from today I will be on my way to Bangkok. I plan to arrive in Bangkok on 1st May and leave only after having the stitches removed on 7/8th May. Can someone help me with the following queries 1.Is it recommended for me to rest & stay indoors post-surgery (till removal of stitches), or can I go around and see Bangkok/ Thailand?. I ask this question because I have read about a number of people who went around holidaying in Phuket etc, and an equal set who just hung around in their hotel. What does the doctor recommend? 2. How close to Dr. Path's clinic should one stay for the first two days post-surgery. Dr Path's team have recommended some hotels - but whatever little I have been able to gather on the internet about them, they seem to be totally out-of-the-way for any touristy stuff. However, this questions is pretty irrelevant if one is advised to stay in his hotel room for the first week post surgery.
15. phew !! you scared the s*** out of me for a second there man..
