Regular Member jonrctim Posted April 20, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted April 20, 2009 When HT Surgeons say the transplanted hairs go to sleep, do they mean the transplanted hairs fall out?? I'm a month and ten days post-op and i'd say after the third week all the implanted hairs had pretty much fell out. I'm basically bald in the areas worked on. Is this normal?? Senior Member Leeson Posted April 20, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 20, 2009 Yes. Will start to grow 3-4 months post surgery, though later for some. My Hair Loss Website - Dr. Hasson
Bill - Seemiller
jonrctim, The transplanted hairs will shed above the surface of the scalp, but the hair follicle will remain safe and sound below the surface. They will be dormant for approximately 3 to 5 months and then begin producing new hair, hence, your transplant will grow. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member phxind Posted April 22, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted April 22, 2009 Bill, once the transplanted hairs have fallen out, will the folicle still be visible to the naked eye on close inspection or is it well beneath the surface? ------------------------------------------------------------ My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Alexander
