HT in Israel - Advice

I wish i could go to the States and get surgeon like Dr.Shapiro and/or Hasson/wong Team...as they seem to be in the top ten...

I m located in Israel and there is a HT surgeon : Doctor Alex Ginzburg > http://hairtransplant.co.il/english/

Did you hear about him ?

It seems that here you can get 1500-2000 graft for 3200usD....

Going to the States besides the 700$ for airfare, another 300$ accomodation + else and 4.5us$ for graft = 7500 $ (average 1750graft) --> Total = 8500 $ compare to 3200 $... (even if you can have reimbursment for half of air fare it s still more than the double)

What good advice can you give me please ?...

Welcome Mike,

I looked at the site and this seems to be a solid clinic, they do strip and FUE techniques. As usual some patient pictures look good, some fairly inconclusive. My first gut feeling is rather positive but this needs to be researched thouroughly, we'll have to wait and see if anyone here has heard of the clinic.

Mike,

I haven't given the site a thorough look, but this jumped out to me as potential red flag:

Quote from their website about hair transplantation:

"Afterwards, a skilled team separates the hair into strips consisting of between 1-5 follicle parts (follicular units mini/micro grafts)."

I don't know what they mean by follicle parts. A follicle (or graft) contains single or multiple hairs. So follicle parts makes it sound like they are splitting the follicle...they may not mean this, but it's how it sounds.

The word mini/micro grafts is always a red flag. I have heard some clinics use these words differently, however, actually meaning follicular unit grafts, but I'd err on the side of caution.

Mike...what you do is up to you...but more often than not, you get what you pay for. If I were you, I'd wait on the surgery, save your pennies, and come to the states and select a top physician that will yield a sure thing.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for taking time to browse through their website...

Yes i know that you re right about "You get what u pay for"...

And I guess that s what i ll be doing...but since my hair is becoming hard to deal with especially the fact that HT are showing up... i wanted to do that asap.

That s also the prob, for people who are anot B spot and try to keep up with there MPB, since their only solution is to catch up every few years...since they still have har..and Doc can not HT on current hair...Whether they wait wait wait and then achieve...

thanks anyway for your help.

Mike, I'm not impressed by the pics oh his website. The hairlines look pluggy.

As far as pricing, whatever a round-trip ticket to North America costs, it will be more than worth it over a lifetime.

sorry, but it's enough for me to stay away from him. And I mean really far away. If I short on cash and needed crown work, maybe I'd let him do my crown...and that's a huge maybe.
