Senior Member hairbank Posted April 18, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted April 18, 2008 Okay - I've been at this HT game awhile, BUT, due to my hairloss starting at the crown and moving forward, I've never had any dramatic work on my hairline/temples and widow's peaks. Well..........I'm going to flat overhaul them during HT #3 ! My Q - I wore a hat that easily fit over my head not touching any grafts for my first two surgeries. However, for the 3rd, since I'm goint to have some temple work, I'm wondering if a hat will rub the temple areas post-op which I would think is a huge no-no. Okay guys that have had the temple work..........how did you cover the temples for the first week or two post-op????? Muchas Gracias! Bill - Seemiller
Hairbank, Great question! Wearing even a lost fitting hat most likely won't work because it will be touching the grafts. I may suggest a lose fitting bandana, but even that might be a problem. I'll be curious what bobman and other TPR patients have to say. Senior Member hairbank Posted April 18, 2008 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 18, 2008 I did check with H&W and they said they do have hats that are larger and will work. I may look for the bandana though................funny, never have wore one before and wouldn't even know where to look ! Anyone else experience this?? Senior Member uncjim Posted April 18, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted April 18, 2008 Hairbank, Hasson and Wong told it to you straight. My last surgery included Elvis Temple work (as in the pasSED) and the hat was a non issue. It's plenty big enough. All the Best on the April 24..that'll be my 3 month anniversary. Senior Member Rambler Posted April 18, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted April 18, 2008 I can verify about the hats. I had Temple work done and it was a non issue. Hats, or bandannas both covered it up. There was just a tiny bit showing at the bottom but after about a week, just not really visible. btw, H&W will give you a decent bandanna after your surgery most likely. Even in a choice of colors. Just call to verify but I did get one right afterwards.

Senior Member hairbank Posted April 19, 2008 Author Senior Member Share Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks guys - puts me at ease. Since I had no temple work from H/W before I hadn't thought of it. It's all relative I guess !! Good to know a hat or bandana will work.
