Before I give my 2 cents here, I'd like to state the fact that I am a former patient (and a very happy patient) of Dr. Wong. To say that my appearance has changed because of Dr. Wong would be an understatement. So onwards.... I'd like to start off by asking Severn a question. Severn, what ever crack you are smoking, where can I find it? Dude, repair work? Are you kidding me? This guy's result is "at worst" pretty damn good if not damn near great. How can you call something like this repair work? As an experiment I showed these results to my folks who have no idea about the dynamics of hair transplantation. I asked them simply what do you think of this result? Mind you my father has a very critical eye. To the untrained eye they both thought that these results were fantastic. I think its within the confines of these forums where we nit pick at every little thing. I think this is a testament to Dr. Wong's superb skills when a result like this begins to get scrutinized. Believe me, if this was done by any other doctor besides H&W, everyone here would be chiming in how impressive these results are. Without throwing anyone under the bus, take a look at this Feller patient's results: http://hairtransplantnetwork.c...opyID=1057&WebID=174 Notice the middle pictures of his hairline in the month 11 section. Look better than this patient? Not to me. Yet this person posted a positive blog extolling the virtues of his Dr so everyone chimes in aggreeing. I have no doubt in my mind that if this post started with a positive spin with the patient saying how much he loved his results, you would not see negative comments, let alone the ridiculous comment of calling this a "repair job". Also, I have to comment on the issue of shaving for surgery. Guys, what is the big deal with shaving? It is temporary and it helps not only the doctor but the patient obtain a better result. Think about it, you are getting SURGERY. Why would you not want to offer the easiest path for the doctor to do his job in order to give the patient the best possible result? It makes no sense to me........Sorry for the rant but it breaks my heart to see the anti H&W vultures swoop in at the first sign of something wrong. TheEmporers, the bottom line is this: You have a great result which will only get better in your second round of surgery that will be performed not because H&W has to do it for you, but because they care about you as they care about all their patients. And I am sure your scar will be better from the second round as well. Just be open to getting these procedures done.

Thanks hdude46. Dr. Wong thinks with the proscar, and my feeling that since there are no nw 6 or 7's in my family, I should be ok. Also, I have about 2500 to 3000 grafts left, give or take but Dr. Wong doesn't think I'll need to come back for a very long time, if ever. My feeling is that if I can hold onto this for at least 10-15 years, I'll be a happy camper.

It's great to see more and more of us who have had the opportunity and good fortune of having a procedure with Dr. Wong showing off our results. While I am in no way taking anything away from the gifted surgical work of Dr. Hasson (who I truly believe is an amazing doctor), I feel that Dr. Wong's work has not been given the same amount of "publicity" as Dr. Hasson's work. Until now that is..... It is my hope that blogs like yours and mine help educate others how powerful a good hair transplant can be and that if H&W is not on somebody's list of potential surgeons when considering a hair transplant, then something is really lacking with that person's research. While there are other great doctors out there, I have yet to see a clinic display as many homeruns as H&W displays. That alone should be an indicator for anyone considering a transplant that this clinic deserves very strong consideration, period. I am truly happy for you my friend, happy growing!

Hey CalJudoka, I can't speak for Dr. Reed but as a patient of Dr. Wong, I can't recommend H&W highly enough. I would be biased but in terms of my own results but I would recommend H&W over anyone in a heartbeat. Those are my 2 cents. Cheers and good luck!

Hey John M, another thing I would suggest to you at this point in the game is (and this is if you haven't already) is to grow your hair out a bit. Joe from H&W posted a great article about hair transplants which I can definitely say applies to me. The thing about hair transplants is that there is a "sweet spot" in terms of length. For me if I cut my hair to a certain length, my hair looks pretty thin compared to when I had a full head of hear at the same length. Hi guys, For any guys out there who are thinking of getting a transplant or have just had one recently, I thought I might chime in and let you know what you might be in for in terms of waiting. I had 5800 grafts placed by Dr. Wong last December so I know all about what it's like waiting for the results to come in......... Now I know everyone is different. For me, waiting was excruciatingly difficult. The procedure was a breeze and the easiest part of the whole process. When I say waiting for the results was difficult, I mean it was DIFFICULT. There were times when I would look in the mirror at every moment I could, feel the top of my head to see if there was any new stubble, etc. Even though there was no indication from any of the folks I spoke to at H&W who are as nice as can be, I'm sure I drove a few of them a little crazy (Joe if you are reading this, you know what I mean ). But they kept assuring me to give it time. I remember being 7 months post op and looking in the mirror and thinking to myself that my results are ok but I wasn't thrilled. I wasn't questioning the skills of Dr. Wong by any means but I just thought I was one of those unlucky saps who wouldn't have the same level of success that others have had. I felt a bit dejected and a bit uneasy but I couldn't do anything about it but wait, but my hopes weren't high. It wasn't until month 9 when it actually started to look good. I remember just looking at the mirror and thinking to myself "holy crap, it worked!" The process was so slow and gradual for me that I just didn't realize until almost the very end that the operation was a success. Now I am close to month 11 post op and am very happy with the results and I think it keeps getting better! So guys, if you are thinking about a transplant or have just had one, unless you have nerves of steel or are a quick grower, I don't envy the wait you will be going through. But once its over, oh man is it sweet Moral of the story, if you picked a great surgeon, after the procedure just keep the faith and everything will turn out well (at least hair wise lol). Cheers!
