  1. These implants have grown well, I now have eyebrows with leg hair that replicates my eyebrow hair . BHT is revolutionary if you ask me.
  2. -Use of body hair/beard hair: The advent of FUE has also allowed for the exaction of non-scalp hair. This can be extremely useful for repair patients, patients of depleted or low donor hair etc. Say what you want about body hair transplantation, but it is here to stay. Doctors like Dr. Bisanga and Dr. Umar have pushed the boundaries on what can be done with body hair. I agree Mickey. For example, beard hair is an excellent source of hair for use in the crown.

  6. What's your family history in regards to balding.
  7. Wait to see how the meds do after about 1 year. Also, if you do decide to go through with an HT, you should consider some some hair grafts from the beard area, for instance, to use as filler in the crown moving forward, depending on what kind of improvement you see after the meds. You should take a pic with dry hair so we can get a better idea. You hair is really slicked down in your pix. See ya, Atticus
  8. Oh god!!!!! Wasting grafts!!!!!! Makes me sick to my stomach!!!!! Atticus
  9. You are quite welcome Mickey. I applaud you for making it through your depression and forging ahead. This takes true courage. I was born with MDD (my brain doesn't make enough dopamine) and I imagine that if the hack that wanted to cut out a huge piece of sclap from the back of my head via FUT had done so for a few hairline and temple grafts, I would have probably have become unnconsulable. Plus, now that I think of it, what would this hack HT doc have done with all my extra grafts, thrown them away?
  10. Mickey, I think it is great that you have this discussions regarding fUE, as the are very educational. Before coming to this forum, I consulted with a guy who wanted to cut a huge strip of of scalsp flesh of the the back of my skull just to do a little hairliner, temple work. Thus, I would have ended up with a huge strip scar, when there would have been no need for this . Luckily, I started doing my research and leaned toward FUE. When I was a newbie, the slant seems to have been towards FUT. I thank you and all the others who thought out side of the box and helped me make a great choice. - I chose dr. umar for FUE, could not have made a better choice. Keep up the good work, Atticus
  11. I would really like to see somthing really close up. I think smp in the crown may have some value, but I am leery of smp right up at the hairline. How many times a year do you have to have touch ups. I pretty much hava yakugaza tats throughtout my body, so i know a think or two about tats. Every year tat /ink slingers claim there will be a perfect black, and a prefect white. Never happens quite so well the way as desribed/ Atticus
  12. This exactly what Dr. Umar does, and he is the first to use leg hair on the eyebrows. Dr. Umar in Redondo Beach uses body hair that mostly likely replicates eyebrow hair. In my case, Dr, Umar used leg hair to restore my eyebrows. The consisitency and lenght are excellent. Most doctors use regular head hair on the eyebrows, however, up close it looks very strange. Head hair is too thick in diameter to match eyebrow. The other downfall of using head hair on eyebrows is the necessity to constantly have to trim that hair. In my case the leg hair transplanted on to my eyebrows only needs to be trimmed very, very seldom.
  13. michaeljames: The consumer advocates who run and support this forum have done an excellent job in rigorously evaluating the surgeons recommended. Atticus: This is true. Thanks for the great work!

  16. I guess the question would be, what doctor has 100% success rate. No. This applies to all facets of surgery. Any Doctor who tells someone that ALL of his surgerries have been success would be suspect. Honestly, there is no Doctor that can guarantee 100% success in any type of surgery. It is just not humanly possible. To single out one Doctor is simply not fair. Monopookoo: When I consulted Dr Umar he never suggested testing even though he quoted 2-3000 BHT/beard, Atticus: Did you actually have surgery by him? Just wondering.
  17. That looks damn good for only 18 weeks. Atticus Happy growing
  18. Hey jfables, I probably didn't explain properly. Dr. Umar does do test FUE, but the question of " should it be mandatory" is the question asked. I don't think it can be mandatory. As far as this: jfables: By the way "Chairman of the ISHRS FUE research committee" sounds like a big friggin' deal, man. Maybe you should listen to whatever he says. Atticus: I listen to many different opinons and observations. But I am just a good ol boy who fell of the turnip truck, shucks, I only possess an MBA. If I recall correctly, my Doctor, Dr. Umar is a very big deal man! He frequently speaks/presents at ISHRS conferences. Plus, he has several publishing in different medical journals. Take it easy, Atticus, MBA
  19. The link below touches upon the subject of FUE vs FUT; What is the best type of Hair Transplant? FUE vs. Strip Dr. Umar does do test areas if the patient wishes. To me the real test should the Doctor and his documented skills. Atticus
  20. Hey Mickey, yeah, there some very non ethical doctors out. I had doc who wanted to do FUT me for a measly 600 graft around the temples and hairline. ? Can you image what would happened if I hadn't run acrosss this board and boned up on FUE/FUT? I just think FUT is barbaric if not absolutely necessary. In my opinion, FUE is the only way I would go even if a were a norwood 4 or 6. Night
