  1. It is usually better to catch certain wrinkles early with botox so they do not become ingrained in the skin and require MORE botox. In other words, once the wrinkles become deep, they are harder to treat. Many young men and women are catching these things early. The key would be to find someone who does botox at a reasonable rate and who knows what they are doing. Atticus
  2. I use Robert Craig permanent hair color. It is safer, and works better than Just for men. Check it out at: www.robertcraig.com This stuff is great! Atticus
  3. I will second what Bill said. Looking at your weblog, you should have great results. That hairline is going to look great!!!! Get a pair of nunchuks to keep the ladies off you! Of course, why would you want to keep them off you? Atticus
  4. I think that hair is all his. He should thin it out so it is not so bulky on top and on the sides. As far as the color? I don't know, I think it is becoming more and more acceptable for men to color their hair. Why shouldn't they, women do it? I don't buy into the age appropriate thing. Atticus
  5. You are entitled to your opinion friend. I hope you make the best choice for you. Atticus
  6. Hearsay is an out-of-court statement, made in court, to prove the truth of the matter asserted. Res ipsa deals with negligence. Res ipsa loquitor is being used simply as a latin verse in the context of my sentence. Nothing more, nothing less. A second hand statement is still a second hand account, and is commonly referred to as hearsay in modern English Idiom outside of the court setting. But please do not attempt to sidetrack issues here my JD friend. I am using res ipsa loquitor in this sentence. In another sentence I could use sine qua non instead of "absolutely indispesible/essential". Just latin. Atticus
  7. Hey Abe. I am a little baffled by your previous statements concerning Dr. Umar not returning emails. Prior to my deciding to have Dr. Umar do my FUE, I checked with several patients regarding his follow up and customer service. All said he excelled in these areas. I experienced prompt responses to my emails prior to having him do my surgery. Are you saying Dr. Umar never responded to your email? Or are you saying he did not IMMEDIATELY/INSTANTLY respond to your emails? Citing others second hand accounts of events is merely hearsay. Res Ipsa Loquitor (The thing speaks of itself). Onto to the patient consultant thing. What attracted me to Dr. Umar's clinic was the fact that there are no patient consulants. Let's not forget patient consultants receive incentives to bring in patients. I would think this leads to some patients being worked on that should not have been. I will pass on patient consultants. As far as the ORP threads on HLH. Let not forget something. ORP insisted that Dr. Umar do his BHT, and was upset because Dr. Umar did not feel he was a good BHT candidate. He made several inappropriate comments in his anger. Are you/were you saying you agree with the notion that Dr. Umar should have done BHT on ORP despite the fact the ORP was not a good candidate? Surely you cannot be saying you agree with ORP? It is a Doctor's decision to do surgery or not bearing in mind whether someone is a good candidate or not. I can see at this point some individuals are left with nothing substantive to say about Dr. Umar negatively. What is left? Conjecture, speculation, and inuendo. As far as trying to label someone who recommeds the work of someone/anyone as a cheerleader is ridiculous. When someone does a good job, I recommend that person. I had laser eye surgery done 8 years ago with perfect results. I still have perfect vision to this day with no evidence of surgery. You better damn well believe I recommend my laser eye surgery surgeon to my friends, relatives, and even strangers. Does that make a shill? No! To allow someone to go to a hack would be irresponsbile. So trying to label me as a shill or cheerleader is just tripe contrived by speculation. That's all I had to say. Have a good evening everyone, Atticus
  8. Bill, I must admire your fairness in this matter. I would be surprised if Dr. Umar would be interested in participating in this kind of discussion given the atmosphere in the forum. I am sure running a one Dr. clinic, plus his participation in endless research towards the betterment of all facets of FUE HT work keep him more than busy. The presentation of his work at the convention before all of his peers speaks volumes as to why, according to your own words, "he is arguably one the leading BHT doctors". As for statements made by roscoepoce, his statement assume that Dr. Umar will take any BHT patient that comes along. This assumption is patently false. Some of you are also members of HLH. Look up the threads started by a angry ORP967 (a few months ago). This patient was very upset because Dr. Umar turned him down as a viable BHT patient. ORP967 posted his discontent on several threads all over HLH. He also tried to smear the docs clinic by stating they never return email or calls. What? Anyone who has personally dealt with Dr. Umar's clinic knows this is just another falsehood. Granted, since Dr. Umar answers all of his own email, it may take him a couple of days to get back to a patient. That is all I had to say. I am not a paid consulant, just a guy who dreamed about an HT for over 15 years. Thanks to forums like these, I came across a good doc. I am happy with my results. For years I though HT must be a myth, because if not, why didn't more bald guys get HT's? I was pleasantly surprised to find out FUE/HT is not a myth, and really can be good in the right hands. You all have a good day, Atticus
  9. This is a different situation, but prior to going to Dr.Umar for FUE, I had a doc that wanted to do TWO strips for a small hairline procedure. I ran out of there like a bat out of hell. Sorry for the sidetrack, but in my case I am glad I don't have a scar in the back of my head for a small hairline job, it just would not have made sense. Atticu
  10. Abedogg. You made a great choice in Doctors. Dr. Umar is the best. I would like to clarify something. Dr. Umar does not employ "patient consultants". Patient questions are answered only by Dr.Umar. As you acknowledged, he is good at answering emails. For the record, he also does not employ sales/marketing reps. Dr. Umar operates a one Doctor operation, and as such does a pretty incredible job of answering questions and handling consultations. The receptionists at his office only handle appointment schedules and other such matters. Once again, you have chosen the best to do your FUE. Good choice. Atticus
  11. I would definitely recommend Dr.Umar. His work, dedication, and effort in keep prices reasonable demonstrate his dedication to helping people, rather than just making lots of money. Apart from his obvious talent, he is honest and caring. I say this with all sincerity. Pat, you stated you went to visit Dr. Umar at his office. I am sure you saw his pride in showing you his state of the art equipment, and thoroughly explaing what a certain piece of equipment is used for. He does not believe in a cookie cutter approach, but believes in custom equipment for different procedures, different body types, races, etc. He has shown his patients (including me) this equipment because they are tools that help him transform lives, and they help him do it extremely well. Could he cut corners and charge more for what he does? I am sure he could, but he does not. My conclusion? Dr.Umar embodies talent with intergrity. Case closed. Atticus
  12. Hi Pat, As far as I am concerned, Dr. Umar is the leading BHT repair expert in the HT realm. Let's face it, BHT is much more difficult to do than FUE. Only the most qualified and artistically inclined gifted surgeons can pull it off and have it look natural. Having said that, Dr. Umar performs many, if not mostly, FUE HT's. I am a prime example. Dr. Umar added 500 grafts (added 100 more free) and devoted all day to me, and me alone. My point being? He does FUE only jobs, and more importantly takes on small jobs like mine with the same passion and dedication of a huge job. FUE or BHT, he is tops! In my case, BHT was never even discussed. I would recommend him to anyone, whether considering a small hairline job like mine, or a major repair. Though my HT was small, it has made a huge impact on my life! Thanks Dr. Umar! I hope my comments help. Here is my forum blog: http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/journal.asp?CopyID=1628&WebID=773 Atticus
  13. Thanks for the warm welcome Bill and Please Grow Please. I will definitely keep everyone posted. Have a great Memorial Day! Atticus
  14. Hello, I just wanted to share some pictures here. I had FUE in 12/07 by Dr. Umar. The work was done to the front hairline. Please click on the weblog I have created for before and after pictures. So far it has been 5 months, and everything is coming in nicely. I liked my experience with Dr.Umar, he only does one surgery a day, and does everything himself from start to finish. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=773 Thanks and have a great evening! Atticus
