Piano, btw big respect to you for taking out the staples on your own I just operate two mirrors and try to take staples out I would have the staple remover upside down.
I have always had to wear my hair slightly longer, you can see from my recent post my 4 year update pics it is probably as long as I have it, i can go alot shorter, but I started going to a hairdresser that would scissor cut it rather than use clippers a few years back, they always knew not to go too short hence you stick with the same barber for as long as you can!
No-one ever asked me outright if I had a ht but I am sure some people guessed, still I never had to answer the question thankfully I think I would have crumbled on the spot.
Chin up re the doldrums, the first few months are tough things look worse before they get better that is for sure but things will soon get much much better for you.

Congrats on your 3rd and I am sure last surgery, sure it's gonna look great once it grows in.

Thanks for the replies guys yes I have been thrilled by the results as stated I had my some scar revision and Dr Hasson was able to get some grafts which he felt and I agreed best suited to go into the hairline to lower it slighty and try to change the appearance of it, my first Dr in 1996 drew the hairline crooked...it seriously took he five seconds and it was crooked because he was standing to one side of me....anyway that's another story.
The grafts were split into singles to really refine the hairline and try to cover the mini and micro grafts that Dr Hasson could see, the hairline was lowered slighty and more so on the left to try to even it up a bit and we went with a small widows peak which I used to have in my teens.
It would have been nice to pull 3000 grafts and put then into the crown to thicken it up but cause of my previous wasted surgeries in the 90's it simply wasn't possible and 600 into the crown would have made no cosmetic improvement.
I have also added some pictures from my time in Vancouver of the city and sights on my website.

Hair Me Out, your hair is coming in really nicely now, I think it is now time to grow it out a bit I appreciate you are trying to give a good comparision month to month but I think you are going to be very happy once you get some length to it.

Hi Pianoman, thanks for your informative and entertaining write up on your surgery I wish you all the best with the final result.
After 4 previous strip surgeries your laxity was not going to be good so Dr Feller would have been unable to get you that number of grafts if he removed the scar tissue aswell, I had the same choice the first time round for me, it won't affect the yield as in the number of hairs that will grow in the recipient just the number of grafts that the doc was able to get. Once the final results grows in you may find that having to wear you hair a little longer is not a problem now you have more hair on top again.

Hi all, Joe kindly posted my video update earlier in the week, I just got back to the UK from a hairline refinement and scar revision it was also a chance for me to spend some time at the clinic with Joe and Doug and observing some surgeries of both Doctors Hasson and Wong.
As a real benefit the weather was great and I was able to explore Vancouver on foot, I will be updating my blog with a full range of photos of my trip and experience.
The surgery was a breeze for me as it was a very small session compared to last time around, despite my scalp being very tight from 4 strip sessions Dr Hasson was able to remove alot of my old UK scars and still get just over 600 grafts to soften and redesign my hairline, although I was very happy with my hairline after my old pluggy grafts had been hid Dr Hasson still felt it needed tweaking slightly.
The problem last time round was that my hairline created in 1996 by my old ht surgeon was wonky, I also wanted coverage all over so i didn't want a ton of grafts spend on my hairline and not get the coverage all over.Dr Hasson was able to even up the hairline and we decided a small widows peak might break up this appearance.
Whilst I was in town two guys from the UK were also in the chair on Thursday so it was good to catch up with them, hopefully they will be posting their progress on this site.
More pics on my website

Hi all I will be in London on Wednesday April 14th in the afternoon if anyone wants to meet up and discuss a transplant with Hasson And Wong, check out my results in the flesh or generally talk hair I will be happy to do so.
At the same time I will be able to take some clear pictures in private and send them off to the clinic for a consultation with the doctors.
If you are interested in meeting up please contact me at ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com

James there is alot of good advice in this thread, you are lucky that you consultated with other clinics and didn't go down the road of a ht cause the agony I feel of a bad ht is alot worse than just coming to terms of being bald.
Shave you head to a grade one, invest the money on some new clothes a great holiday, focus your energy on trying something new, make yourself busy, just try to forget about your hair for a while and move on.
I wish you all the best

You will end up with great biceps and triceps! Seriously you really don't need to do them for anywhere near as much as that 15 mins daily should be enough for 3 months.
Good luck
-
All the best with the procedure you are in safe hands, looking forward to seeing your updates.
-
Glad I was able to help it was good to talk to you and look forward to meeting up next month.
It's a tough one most people tend to go home very soon after the surgery before the swelling sets in that way you can relax at home in familiar surroundings, the staples are very easy for someone to remove.
On the other hand Vancouver is a great city to explore and the weather should be good in May....decisions, decisions.

Hi BillyJ, thanks for your interest in the clinic I am the UK consultant for Hasson And Wong it's a shame you didn't see my post on a meet up I was in London yesterday meeting patients, that said I live in the South East so a meet up would be possible.
I am a nw6 who had 4850 grafts in one session after 3 poor surgeries in the UK, so we have a bit in common there.
As the other posters mention a very, very small number of people are candidates for such a big session certainly in one go, you would be looking at a two stage strategy.
I would be very happy to answer any questions you have regarding the procedure etc all my contact details are on my site.
Regards
Garageland

Hi Sharptooth, after my 4th procedure my scalp was indeed tight for several months as I can remember but after a while I just stopped noticing it was, I guess it could be the same for you, try not to concentrate on it.

I will be in London on the 17th of February to meet up with potential patients who are considering surgery with Hasson and Wong to answer general questions regarding hair transplants and relate my experience of surgery with H&W and for those to see a hair transplant in the flesh so to speak.
I will also be able to take some photos of your situation and forward them to the clinic for consultation.
Anyone interested in meeting up please contact me on ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com or visit www.hairtransplantdoctors.co.uk.
Regards
Garageland
My results can be seen on my blog on this site.

Hi Jim, I agree with what splitting hairs says if you want the best you will have to invest more than what you have saved so far.1200 grafts is unlikely to go very far even on the most minimal loss and if you are looking for a cheap job you will more than likely end up regretting it.Save more, get on propecia and research all the top docs whilst you are saving.

Would be more than happy to help Ian you can contact me at ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com all the best
-
Hi Batel, you would really need to contact these clinics direct for a consultation regarding the price, but google them first to read some reviews as there are alot of horror stories out there.I would spend some time on this site reading and learning before making any kind of commitment
-
Hi there you can take a look at my web blog I had over approaching 5k with Dr Hasson, good luck with your research. You would be advised to consult with these docs to make sure you are a candidate for such as session if you haven't already done so.
