  5. Hi, good job you asked the question on here first!

I had surgery with Dr May in 1996 now it was a long time ago but I had 450 mini and micro grafts. The placement was poor and too low, pluggy and gappy, he also gave me a wide donor scar. I was also 23 at the time with miniturisation throughout and heading for a norwood 6. Interesting that he has now moved to Glasgow away from London.

  6. Hi Sunner,

Glad to hear you have been patiently researching for such an extended period of time. Meeting patients is an excellent idea there was a hair meet in London back in May and I hope that will be repeated again next year. I am holding consultations in London on August 30th, I had a transplant with Dr Hasson in 2006 and some hairline refinement in 2010 as I was a repair patient when he first took me on. I now represent Hasson And Wong in the UK would be happy to meet with you and answer questions that you have you don't even have to buy me a drink as there is tea and coffee laid on.

  7. Thanks Richie, yes the big difference is how much younger he looks in person, it has certainly taken years off him.

Janna- It was a pleasure to meet with you too, hope to see you at the next one! Dan is over the moon with his results, as someone who spent such a long time deliberating over his decision to go ahead it is really good to see such a positive change.

911fan- thanks I will ask him to pull his hair back to expose his hairline when he gives me a update after the year is up.

    Orlhair- I couldn't agree more

  8. I am posting Dan's 10 month results and his story below, I met with Dan in London around 18 months before he had surgery, we had many conversations whilst he researched hair transplants, he had surgery with Dr Hasson on September 4th 2011 for 5800 grafts. The photos he has sent me represent just over 10 months growth.

Dan's story which he posted elsewhere

I am 40 yrs old in a few weeks.

I started losing my hair at 25 yrs old.It was devastating. That was the day I realised I hadn’t cheated the hereditary hairloss .

Over the years I kept cutting my hair shorter and shorter and kept looking at myself thinking I didn’t need to shave it all off. By the time I was 37 I looked quite strange with a receding hairline and loss on the crown.Thats when I started looking at HT’s.

I looked at all the websites and found Hasson and Wong. I was amazed at the consistent results.I went to London to meet David .He was really helpful and sent my pictures to Dr Hasson.

He emailed me a few days later. It looked like Dr Hasson thought I would be a good candidate and said 4200 grafts should be achievable.

A year past and I hadn’t done anything .I spoke to Dr Hasson and he told me not to worry and just go ahead with the procedure ,he seemed quite confident .Finally in September 2011 after speaking to David again I went to Vancouver with my 13 yr old son.

Wow what a great place. Its almost as if I don’t really remember the procedure as I had such a great time just being there. The weather was superb and the people were so friendly. They give you a letter to tell customs what you are there for. When I presented it to the customs officer he congratulated me and wished me luck. What a great city.

I met Dr Hasson on the morning of the procedure and he said I had good laxity and dense hair and should get 5000 grafts. He then shaved my head and started.Half way through the count he said we are at approx 3000 .I was delighted when the final figure came in at 5800 (approx).

I cannot start to tell you how professional these people are. The office and procedure room are state of the art. They made me feel like part of a family and made sure me and my son were comfortable the whole way through.

Anyway here are my pictures before and today 18-7-2012 at 10 months and approx 12 days.

They have given me my life back…..That's all I can say.Thank you Victor Hasson and all the team and of course David for taking the time and effort to talk me through the whole journey with care and consideration.

  12. I will be in London, Kings Cross meeting with potential patients on Wednesday the 10th of August, if you wish to meet with me in person to have a informal chat about the procedure at Hasson And Wong and ask any questions about the surgery and my experiences.

Alot of guys have found it very useful to meet someone who has been through the procedure 5 times and see my results in person.

For those that don't know my situation I am a norwood 6 repair patient, if you wish to know more info email me at ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com

  13. Aman, I am a bit suprised that you cannot see any growth when it is plain to see that you have coverage where before you hadn't. I understand how anxious you are and just how 6 months seems like such a long time already but I honestly believe over the next 3 months things are going to improve greatly and we are all really hoping that will happen.

Hairthere makes a very good point to compare your situation you need to take some better photos in consistent lighting with no flash, the latest pictures look like they have flash on, your hair also looks shorter which will give you less overall coverage I know Joe has talked about the sweetspot in terms of hair length.

From now on when documenting your 7 month photos please take them in natural light during the day in a well lit room and try to take them in the same room same lighting etc and also can you take a few more angles than just the top of your head? This is not a demand I am just trying to help you appreciate the difference that we are seeing and the only way to do that is to take consistent monthly photos

Take a look at my 6 month update from my blog taken in the same location and the 12 month update you can see a very nice improvement in density and maturity

  14. I totally understand what you are going through I have been there and got the t shirt, you are right it is unlike anything else and the first few months are a total rollercoaster of emotions, that is the great thing about forums like these to get support from guys in similar positions who are going through or have been through what you are experiencing now.

But it is a long journey so please don't be alarmed, I can honestly say my hairline which I had someone hairline work done nearly a year ago has improved in the last 2 months so for some people it happens quicker than others.

  15. Thanks for your comments guys again very much appreciated.

Alix look forward to seeing you this weekend, you will indeed see mine and Jotronics hair in person.

Billy- Thanks my friend I look forward to seeing your transformation in person on Saturday

BTW Sorry for my rather sombre expression in these photos I can't multi task and smile whilst taking a photo of myself
