Things are really looking great for 6 months, thanks for the update look forward to seeing your updates from now.
-
I really shouldn't worry about it 7 days is not going to make any difference, most of us have all done it.
-
Thanks for updating the forum with your 4 month progress, things will be starting to happen now for you, as we had surgery on the same day I have been noticing new hairs appear in my hairline too over the last month or so, grow well and please keep us all updated.
I replied to your propecia question in the other post.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for keeping the forum updated with your latest pics, it looks on track as you say in the early days the hair comes through fine and is difficult to pick up in photos particularly when you are taking the photos yourself, you still have some lingering redness, have you tried aloe vera for this?

1/5 of the proscar tablet is 1mg so as a last resort you could try 1/5 tab every other day and see how you get on.

Hi Illuminated, I hope you are doing well my friend Epiletic has given a very honest reply but everyone has different reactions, personally I would agree with the change in semen quality but I have had no other problems, you are well advised to try to ride out the current problems that you have and keep on it, if you are still having problems you could lower the dosage and see if that helps this will still give you some of the benefit.

Hi Ben UK
Scalp exercises do work and if you were to spent half an hour a day every day for 3/4 months leading up to your procedure you will improve this and thus enable the doctor to harvest more grafts, as for just how many no-one can be sure, but I greatly improved my laxity to vastly improve the number of grafts I got and I know lots of others that have done the same.
There is a video on our website that Joe posted showing more information on how to perform them, I don't think I can link you to it. And yes they are only usefull for strip patients.

Thanks for your kind words guys, the new hairline is starting to take shape and I am liking what I see.
J1985 - Glad to of helped you make your choice and thanks happy days indeed.
Spex- we keep saying this, it would be good to meet up, I don't know how often you are in London but let me know when you could do.

I thought I would update my case at what was the 3.5 month period after my 600 grafts into the hairline, I have some early growth into the hairline which is easier to see in certain light than other, this started around the 2.5 month mark with an odd baby hair this has become increasing more rapid over the last month.
The hairs don't really make any contribution to my hairline at the moment as they are still short and baby fine....here are some pics

Hi Ken, relax....... none of what you are describing sounds abnormal, most hairs shed but not everyone of them, if you have existing hair where the grafts were placed then it is really difficult to work out which ones have shed and which are your original hairs growing back, temporary shockloss can occur but the best advise is not to obsess over it as it won't make it grow any quicker or make the result any better, the stress will just make you feel worse.
Rest up and grow well.

You are feeling the same as most people feel 1 month after a ht, these feelings are nothing new, you have the comfort of the fact that things will get much much better from here.
Try not to focus on it too much, I know it is hard but it won't make it grow any quicker.

The other 90% have the option of posting their pics on forums like this under no control of the clinics, just look how many blogs are on this site to scrutinise.....hundreds, but the vast majority want to remain anonymous, this is not something that anyone can control.
I always tell people to do their own research, look at the results on the websites is part of this but these forums provided the greatest help to me when I was deciding on a clinic.
-
Ok as I have read through this post from start to last I feel I would like to address some of the points and comments made.
Danielkiwi - Hasson and Wong are indeed booked up and between the two doctors they are averaging more than double your guess of patients each week, but out of these just how many patients give consent to post their pics on the internet somewhere between 5-10% and out of these 5-10% how many do you think actually return to the clinic to get proper before and after shots. In most cases it is patients coming back for another session, or for a check up.
Just how many people will travel miles to have their 1 year after pics taken? The clinic posts the most transparent pictures of ht's anywhere on the net these are taken in the same location infront of the blue wall, they post hd video with comb throughs and expose the scar how is this deceptive advertising these are the results in the same conditions and lighting, they do not grab pictures from patients blogs which are dimly lit to use as after pics, so you are comparing apples to apples.
Joe posts at least one new result on this forum each week, do you think he has a list of ten fully grown out results to choose from and just cherry picks the best one? No he has one or maybe two if lucky each week to go with that has given consent. If you see more home run results it's more than likely that the patient himself is happy with the result and therefore is more likely to give consent to post.
As for K2009's results after 16 months I have never met the patient as I am miles away in the UK but 4600 grafts spread over a norwood 6 entire area is not going to give a dense result. This is apparent just looking at the placement post op. as everyone else has said it would take somewhere in the region of 7-10k to give a much fuller look.I do not also know what plan of attack was discussed but I assume that k2209 wanted coverage all over as he maybe didn't want to come back a second time, what he does have is a stand alone result albeit a bit thinner than he was maybe hoping for.He has the coverage and it has framed his face and he looks much better than where he started, he also has the option to have another session in the future, anyone with his level of loss is not going to have a one and done surgery.
In my opinion your 16 month pics show an improvement over the 7 month ones, I am sure Joe can give us more details on the case.

I will be holding free consultations in London on Friday the 27th of August. Those people interested in meeting up please contact me asap as their are limited spaces available as I have a private consultation room booked. It will be an opportunity to talk about the procedure at Hasson And Wong, travelling etc and for you to check out my results in person.
At the same time I can take photos and send them to either Dr Hasson or Dr Wong for an assessment.

Congrats on your recent surgery good to see more and more Brits making the journey to Vancouver.Look forward to seeing the pics when you have time.
-
Congrats on the latest surgery, the difference is clear to see look forward to seeing your latest progress.
-
You are in great hands, it is not uncommon to worry at this stage, you can check out my blog I was a repair patient and got nearly 5k of grafts with Dr Hasson, if I can help just let me know.
-
Hello, I have done these consultations a couple of times before to a positive response. Most people find it is good talk openly about their hairloss to someone who understands and get the opportunity to meet someone who has had the procedure.
Whilst I am not a doctor I am a five times HT repair patient spanning over 14 years and I have observed many consultations in house by Dr Hasson and colleagues aswell as observed surgeries by both Dr Hasson And Dr Wong.
-
Congratulations to both of you on the new positions I am sure you both will serve the forum well.
-
Hi PD, you are perfectly fine to rest you head and staples on the pillow, doing this will not stretch the scar the staples keep it tightly closed. As you say sleeping upright will help with the swelling for the first night but after that you will be fine.

I have a consultation room booked in London for Wednesday the 7th of July if you are interested in surgery with Hasson And Wong and would like to know more about the procedure etc and check out my results in person please contact me to arrange a time.
At the same time I can take photos of your situ and forward them onto the Doctors for an assessment.
-
Hi Bill, well done on the website the pics look great and I am sure you are going to be very happy with the final results, Your hair looks much better with the shorter look at the sides, I hear you had some trouble finding someone willing to take the staples out.
Sorry to hear you lost your original longer post that has happened to me in the past....it's very annoying. In the end I typed it on a word document and then cut and paste it into the thread that way you can save it before you push the post button.
Obviously I am following your case with much interest as I got to see you in person before, during and after surgery (Bill was having his surgery with Dr Wong same day as I was with Dr Hasson).
Grow well!
-
Guys this is 6 months it is way too early to start making assumptions on what the final result will turn out like, thanks for the updates Phil please keep them coming
-
Hi Fingers Crossed, 4 months is just the start of things, I looked just about where I started off after 4 months, as I am sure you have heard many times it takes upto a year to see the full results and then can take upto 18 months for the hair to mature, keep patient it will be worth it.
