  1. I will be again holding my regular free consultations in Central London on Friday October 4th. The consults will be one on one with myself a ht veteran who has had 5 transplants spanning over 17 years. I will be able to explain our procedure in detail, answer any questions you have regarding surgery, show you what a transplant can look like and take clear photos for a recommendation from either Dr Hasson or Dr Wong.

If you would like to meet with me in person or for more information please email me on ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com or call 0757 8164162.

  2. Hi Shabs,

Sorry for the delay I have been on holiday for a few days and missed your post. I am the UK consultant for Hasson & Wong and I provide consultations in London on a regular basis and sometimes in other locations. I am next there tomorrow but the day is fully booked however I will be booking in another consult day very soon.

We perform FUT not FUE however if your uncle is interested in a larger session he should certainly look into this option. You can contact me via the website Hair Transplants | Hair Transplant Surgery | Hasson & Wong or message me on here.

Farjo do perform FUE in the UK but not BHT as far as I am aware.

  4. Sorry to hear your situation it is never nice to hear that you are not suitable for a transplant but believe me it is much better to be told that than go ahead with surgery and be left out of pocket and scarred.

Unless you can achieve a cosmetic improvement that is going to make you happy then surgery should not be carried out in your case if the donor is too thin then there will not be enough grafts to make much of an improvement on top.

As Gillenator says you should try shaving your head and see how you get on with that. Before you do please post some photos of the donor area for the members of this community to comment. I am in London again next month if you wished to chat over your options.

  5. Mr Steele,

It is the patients choice to use minox or not, as I know redman he was very happy using minox before the surgery and felt it was working well for him which is why I assume he wishes to continue to help keep his native hair.

Please remember to discontinue using the minox 2 months before your surgery if you no longer want to use it after surgery then you don't need to, I have never used it.

  7. Ok 3 poor surgeries which each time the Dr took a new strip left me with 3 wide donor scars and a lot of wasted grafts.

Dr Hasson took 4856 grafts in 2006 taking a new scar and removing part of the old scarring.

In 2010 I had a scar revision and 623 single hair were used for my hairline. I really thought after this I would be stripped out and that would be my last surgery.

In October I will let you know how many grafts I get. My donor density is above average but my laxity was very poor, scalp exercises have improved it a great deal but compared to a virgin scalp it is still below average of course. Some guys have naturally great laxity and some don't I fall in the latter of these.

Are you thinking of going back for more Spanker?

  8. I first realised it when I was 21 and on holiday and a girl that I was into told me I was loosing my hair in front of all my mates. I also burnt my head that holiday for the first time. And that's when my paranoia began basically.

Unfortunately I had lost my dad only a year earlier who was a full blown Norwood 6 I am sure if I had him to turn for support I may have never gone down the road of getting 450 mini and micro grafts at the age of 23 and wasting so much of my precious donor.

  9. Good advice above. You shouldn't limit yourself on location and convenience it should be the best Doctor for your husbands situation. For those Doctors that you are not near you should set up online consultations via good clear photos. The list of Doctors on here would be a very good place to start.

There are also many excellent blogs/websites of documented patient experiences here

    Hair Transplant Blogs

They have been kind enough to state the level of loss of the front of each case so finding other Norwood 6's will be easy.

    All the best.

  10. Thanks, you say strongly advised, What would you say to surgeons that say, don't bother, if it gets worse you can come back and have it done again? I don't really want to be bothered with either drug, but would you find it strange that any surgeon said don't bother taking either? Your transplanted hair, I assume would grow OK without drugs

Anyone know why Rogers didn't follow up on this forum?

It depends on your age and how much hair you still have to lose and as long as they made you aware that not taking the drug will certainly mean coming back again then that is ok. The transplanted hair will grow without any medication no problems the medication is to save as much of your native hair.

Can't answer the last question, why don't you schedule a consult with him?

  11. The strip removal takes around an hour on average but for larger sessions and tougher scalp it can take around 1.5 hours.

Good luck with your procedure, as you mention you won't feel anything after the injections and these are all done with quickly. A good clinic will always make time to get the number of grafts they recommend or that you require, I would hate to see you rushed out the door as you are out of time.

  12. At 10 days the grafts are pretty safe and should not have been harmed as the skin has healed over by this time. I would imagine that the scalp would have shown some adverse reaction by now if it was going to.

I would hope you have got away with it, of course no one has ever done any research before on anti freeze and newly transplanted grafts, you may just have been the first to do so!

Try to relax as imo it would be the skin that would also be irritated if there was a problem.

  13. This UK patient had 5919 grafts in one session to address his hair loss issues and high hairline in September 2011. He visited Dr Hasson when he was in London in March 2012 and we were able to take some photos at 6.5 months which are represented in the first series of before and after photos.

The second set of photos have been send to me directly by the patient recently which show him 22 months post op. He is rightfully delighted with his result and posted this elsewhere at 10 months post op.

I am 40 yrs old in a few weeks.

I started losing my hair at 25 yrs old.It was devastating. That was the day I realised I hadn’t cheated the hereditary hairloss .

Over the years I kept cutting my hair shorter and shorter and kept looking at myself thinking I didn’t need to shave it all off. By the time I was 37 I looked quite strange with a receding hairline and loss on the crown.Thats when I started looking at HT’s.

I looked at all the websites and found Hasson and Wong. I was amazed at the consistent results.I went to London to meet David .He was really helpful and sent my pictures to Dr Hasson.

He emailed me a few days later. It looked like Dr Hasson thought I would be a good candidate and said 4200 grafts should be achievable.

A year past and I hadn’t done anything .I spoke to Dr Hasson and he told me not to worry and just go ahead with the procedure ,he seemed quite confident .Finally in September 2011 after speaking to David again I went to Vancouver with my 13 yr old son.

Wow what a great place. Its almost as if I don’t really remember the procedure as I had such a great time just being there. The weather was superb and the people were so friendly. They give you a letter to tell customs what you are there for. When I presented it to the customs officer he congratulated me and wished me luck. What a great city.

I met Dr Hasson on the morning of the procedure and he said I had good laxity and dense hair and should get 5000 grafts. He then shaved my head and started.Half way through the count he said we are at approx 3000 .I was delighted when the final figure came in at 5800 (approx).

I cannot start to tell you how professional these people are. The office and procedure room are state of the art. They made me feel like part of a family and made sure me and my son were comfortable the whole way through.

They have given me my life back…..That's all I can say.Thank you Victor Hasson and all the team and of course David for taking the time and effort to talk me through the whole journey with care and consideration.

  14. tbh,

It is not always essential to take propecia/fin to have surgery but it is strongly advised and in some cases we would be very cautious with surgery if the patient is not taking any preventative medication.

It depends on your own situation if you have not tried the medication and are loosing hair at the rate you are saying then you would be really best advised to give it a try. Some people swear in minox and say it has helped them personally I have not been inclined to take it all the time I am taking propecia.

The Doctor was right the new transplanted hair will stay with you, mine is still growing from 17 years ago perfectly well. Let me know if I can help any further.

  15. Very few of Dr Rogers patients post online I am afraid, there was a visit by this forum to his clinic quite a few years ago but there seemed to be no follow up by the Doctor.

The only clinic in the UK recommended on here is the Farjo clinic.

  16. I will be again in Central London on Friday August 23rd providing free consultations. If you would like to meet with me in person please email me on ukconsultant@hassonandwong.com or call 0757 8164162.
