  1. In regards to age, there are many people, myself included, who experienced hairloss at a young age. Keep in mind that you are young and you have many years to save for an HT. Many of us struggled in our early years but you are a long way from reaching your "prime" in your life. I am 37 and still feel I have not reached my prme. When I was younger, before I had my HT, I worked out (and continue to) and looked at others ways I could improve my appearance and personality. That is good advice from wanthairs. It worked and I have had the pleasure of dating many beautiful women over the years. Hang in there and dont sweat it. Hang out here for a while. There are many just like you here.
  2. Guys, Thanks for the words of encouragement. I know its a waiting game at this point. I am currently easing back into exercising which will certainly help. Abedogg, I started losing some of the transplanted hairs about 10 days ago. The have slowly shed since then. I still have some there but I would say I have lost 60-70%. Would have been nice to keep them but I guess they will come back.
  3. I have updated my weblog with my one month photos of my HT with Dr Rahal of just under 4000 grafts. Nothing special to report. This is a very challenging time since I appear to have far much less hair than I started with pre HT. I look almost completely bald. Still some redness in the recipient area although it is not as red in person as it appears in the photos. Almost all of the transplanted hairs have fallen out. Hangin tough though.

  5. I also had the funds and I wired the full amount weeks ahead of time. Dr Rahal will settle up with you on the difference if there is a difference after the HT. Like Eman, I think my bank charged me about $20.
  6. I will be transitioning from baby shampoo to a daily shampoo in about a week. I am almost 4 weeks post op. Can anyone recommend a good daily shampoo. I have a prescription for Nizoral 2% but I will not be using it for a while and even when I start Nizoril it will only be 2X per week. Any suggestions for a daily are appreciated.
  7. Great results. I am a Rahal patient so seeing these results is very encouraging especially during my "resting" stage. Love the last picture, that is some funny stuff.
  8. Amazing results for just 5 months. Your transformation from month 4 to month 5 is significant. Congrats! Can you do me a favor and share your complete regimen (i.e. supplements, vitamins, hair loss treatment drugs etc.)? I can only hope to have near those results. It has completely transformed your head.
  9. Thanks for the tips guys, thats good information. Clint
  10. Quickly realizing that I have sides due to taking proscar (red, blotchy patches on my face only after 7 days), does anyone have any recommendations on additional products? I am currently on Rogaine 5% and getting a prescription of Nizoril 2%. Is there anything else I can do. I just had an HT 2.5 weeks ago.
  11. Thanks Leeson. Does anyone have any recommendation on whether to use the 1% or 2%?
  12. Can someone point me in the direction regarding where to purchase Nizoral? Anyone recommend it?
  13. I have an active lifestyle and workout 5-6 days per week. I have not exercised since my HT 16 days ago and its driving me nuts. What do you guys think about walking a mile or two on the treadmill at a decent pace?
  14. Lookin real good. It does not look like you have lost much of the recipient hair. Should have nice results. Great hairline.
  15. TC17, Thanks. I plan on trimming down to a 3 when I get the stitches removed on Monday. I have the Bozo thing goin on, I know. I will try to get some pics of the scar added soon. Clint
  16. Attached is a link to my session with Dr Rahal of 3940 grafts. Included are pre op pics and 10 days post op. I will get immediate post op pics posted soon. I get my stitches out in two days. I cannot wait. Also dealing with crusting. Comments are appreciated. Clint

  18. Abid, You really should do more research. Look through the threads and look at some of the folks on here who have had a bad HT. You think that you feel insecure about your hair now? A bad HT can be devistating and has been for some here. To me, the most important thing was the quality of the Dr. I understand financial constraints but take the advise of the people on this site, wait until you can afford it. Right now there is a great exchange rate in Canada. Dr Rahals office offers a $1000 reduction for travel expenses and that coupled with the exchange rate in Canada make Dr Rahals HTs very affordable. You should call them, you may be pleasantly suprised.
  19. When a Dr. refers to percentage of density, what exactly does that mean? So for example if my Dr. says I will achieve 50% density in a certain area, 50% of what? Does this mean 50% of my original density?

  21. Well guys, I did it, I took the plunge. We were shooting for 4000 grafts and ended up with 3940. Very close to our mark. I believe the breakdown was approximately 600-1s, 2340-2s and 1000-3s. Everything was either placed in the hairline or the crown. I was in the chair for approximately 10 and 1/2 hours which makes for a very long day. All went according to planned and I am recovering well and I am already back at home. My experience with the Rahal Clinic was a very good one. As those of you who have been there know, Dr Rahal, Adrian and all of their staff are first class. I arrived at the office at around 6:30 AM and met with Adrian to fill out the necessary paperwork. The paperwork was very thorough and informed me of all of the risks associated with the procedure. There was virtually nothing left out. After the paperwork was completed, I then met with Dr Rahal to discuss the plan of attack. We discussed my expectations and then proceeded to make the plan. We tailored the plan to accommodate potential future loss of native hair. After that, it was over 10 hours in the chair. I was taken care of between watching several movies, listening to music (Dr Rahal has good music taste) and conversing with his wonderful staff. It made the day much smoother. They also fed me lunch and gave me plenty to drink. The procedure was very comfortable. After the procedure, Dr Rahal got me some dinner and took me back to my hotel. The first night I was sore but Dr Rahal gave me some good pain meds to take care of that. When I woke up the next day, The pain had subsided considerably. I only have slight tenderness now. I had my follow up the next day which went well. Dr Rahal looked me over real well and determined that things went as we had planned. I then had a nice conversation with Adrian while waiting for my taxi to the airport. I then took my care package they had prepared for me and headed out. Overall my experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend Dr Rahal and his staff. Other than being caught up in immigration, there was nothing I would change about the trip. I would like to thank Dr Rahal, Adrian and all of their staff for making me feel so comfortable. Also, I would like to thank this discussion forum and its members for helping me get educated on the HT process and the list of reccomended Drs. Without this site, I am sure I would have ended up in a hair mill. I will be posting my blog within a couple of weeks with pics. As for now, I will continue to nurse myself here at home. Clint

  23. Yes, I also had to get an HIV and Hepititis test and fax the results to Dr Rahal prior to surgery.
  24. Wow, that hairline looks very good. I am sure you will have very nice results. Congrats.
  25. Thanks Eman, good info. That is the procedure I will likely follow.
