  1. Amazing timing for your visit to this forum. Check back in a year or two that's usually how long it takes to realize what a major mistake you made going to MHR or Bosley. The first 6 months to a year, you want to believe you did the right thing, and usually delude yourself. And if it's bosley, they we probably keep you on perscription drugs for the first 6 months to help you believe. Good luck. I hear shiparo does good repair work. 2. I say kinda false. The picture would be O.K. If it explained both procedures where done.
  3. False advertising? In the Gray area? Just a plain mistake? Which one is it?
  4. Wow this sounds great. Do you have any pictures? When can I get some. Love the name.

  6. Stay away from the Hair Mills like Bosley and MHR, else you'll end up back here looking for a surgeon to do your repair work.
  7. My latest pictures documenting my continued hair growth. What do you think?

  9. don't do it. You are way to young. It will be the biggest mistake in your life. Who is the doctor? Also, you should post up top. Most guys don't read the post down here.
  10. Finally after 3 months of hair dots, my forehead hair is begining to take off. Yea!! The hair starts real thin barely visible, grows 1/8 inch then, the shaft thickens a little, and grows to 1/3 inch, then finally the shaft thickens to normal hair size. I am now almost to the point I can't count them all. Probably close to about 100 on my forehead, and more keep coming. Most are still too white and small to photograph. They bleach out. They should be ready to photograph towards the end of February or end of March. But if you are near S.F. stop by. You can see them upclose in natural lighting. You can also see my new hairs growing in all three stages: 1/8 inch barely visible 1/3 inch just visible 1/2 becomes terminal hair thick/a terminal hair. Stop by. It's worth seeing. My forehead has been slick bald for 20 years. Growing hair on it after after so many years of being slick bald, is really, really, cool. 13. Sorry to over post, I just have to share this news: The new 7 little forehead hairs I found 1/18/04 and 1/20/04 are turning into a patch of about 20 terminal hairs 1/2" by 1/2". This is the biggest chuck of terminal hair growth that I have ever had on my forehead. It should be ready for pictures in about two weeks. The hairs are currently too small to photograph, most would bleach out. They should be ready to photograph in 2 to 3 weeks. I have now seen this type of hair growth on my forehead several times. That's how I am able to identify it. The hairs with this type of growth, grow real thin about 1/3 of and inch, then the shaft thickens and they go terminal. This growth is amazing! It's on my oldest baldest head area, 20 year plus dormant follicles now growing terminal hair at a normal speed!

  15. Bosely and MHR have several problems: First they will do HT work on anyone. They brag about doing work on 18 year olds. They are profit driven not customer need driven. They will give an HT to anyone their sales people can talk into it. Another problem is that they hire sales people to sell their HT work, who's goal is to get you in the chair; that is the only way they get paid. Their sales people only tell you about the good things and avoid negative and realistic expectation talks until after they have started drilling on your head (once started they got you). Good doctors will not work for Bosley or MHR. Bosley and MHR doctors tend to be guys ending their medical career looking to help build retirement cash, from other countries willing to take work anywhere, or doctors who can't get work with a real hospital or doctors office because of bad grades, insurance problems, etc. Remember HT work is not life threatening like real medical work, low insurance risk, real hard to kill someone by mistake doing HT work. Bosley and MHR doctors are paid by the procedure, to make good money they need to do as many procedures as possible a day. The doctors are also pressured to do as many procedures a day as possible--Bottom line is corporate profitablity. They need to pay for the TV ads that got you in there and make a profit after paying everybody else, etc.. Bosley and MHR also pay their nursing help the minimum, poorly trains them, and works them hard. As a result they have a high turn over of the people who actually do the majority of the work, but this is OK because it adds about 15% to the bottom line in profitablity. In the end, people end up in the chair with unrealistic expectations. The doctors who do the work are medicore at best, and have been trained to and are interested in squeezing your wallet. The nurses are poorly trained. When you sit in their chair, everybody is in a hurry to get your procedure started, so you can't turn back. Once started, they then want to get you done ASAP, so the chair is freed up for their next victim. Going to Bosley or MHR for HT work will probably be the biggest mistake in your life should you choose to do so. The HT boards are full of guys who did not do their homework, thought they knew better, bought into the slick adveritising, etc. And totally regret it. Most would give up their left nut to have Bosley's and MHR's work un-done. Unfortunately I am a Bosley Victim. Just think how many guys are sitting at home right now to embarressed and ashamed to go outside much less tell anyone how they willingly let their scalps be raped by these guys. Read this excerpt from Dateline on Bosley, from what I know MHR is even worse: ************************************************** From DateLine The TV Show The television show Dateline NBC aired a program titled: Splitting Hairs; undercover investigation of Bosley Medical Clinics. The report, which included interviews with former employees and patients, told about botched surgeries and broken promises. The lead reporter, Chris Hansen, said they were surprised at how many men felt ripped off and disfigured. An interview with former Bosley employee Joe Cox revealed that there was a big gap between what Bosley Medical sold and what it delivered: HANSEN: Did you ever see any patient come into Bosley and walk out looking like the brochure, like the advertisements we've seen? Mr. Cox: No. HANSEN: Never? Mr. Cox: Never. HANSEN: What does that tell you about the kind of work Bosley Medical does? Mr. Cox: It tells me that it's not a medical group, it's a sales group. 16. Go with the Chia-pet. Stuff works fast, you'll have a good two inches of Chia-pet hair by the end of the month. Only one problem, it dies after like 8 weeks. So you'll need to re-apply the secret Chia-pet growth solution every couple of months. Also, you want to avoid visits to the Zoo. If you find your self at the Zoo by accident, stay away from the giraffes exhibit. Good luck and don't forget to water daily.
  17. You know arfy you are one of the major players on this forum who knows what they are talking about and make it work. If you are ever near S.F. I would be honored if you stopped by. I would be glad to buy you lunch and get your analysis of my scalp. Ken
  18. Check out this survey on Bosley's website. They forgot to ask the most important questions, like 1. Are you happy with your HT work? 2. Do you feal ripped-off by us? http://www.bosley.com/men/survey.htm It's amazing the whole survery is based on your pre-operation and right after the operation. No questions about the end result. Want to know why? Because less then 70% of their customers are happy at the six month mark, and it only gets worse from that point on. This data is based on their real survey information buried in some of their other on-line documentation. I would love to see a survey of patients two years later like: 1. Was going to Bosley the biggest mistake in your life? 99% 2. Did Bosley mislead you on what they can really do for you? 99% 3. Do you feel you over paid for inferior service? 99% [This message was edited by MeHairBeGrowin on January 27, 2004 at 08:54 AM.]

  20. Who did the work? It looks good to me.
  21. NotSure If you live close to S.F. e-mail me, if you would like to try some new hair-stuff for free. Belanger@ByteShark.com
  22. Go try Proscar first. Maybe you'll stop your loss. P.S. If all goes well, next month I will be starting radio ads where I tell people about my experience with Bosley and Dr. Paul Straub. My ad will ask them to go to my website to see real pictures of their work, I collect them from other people. My lawyers tell me I should have no problem as long as I keep it factual. I hate Bosley and Straub, they are total sociopaths. They have caused many people much pain. One of my goals in life is to educate the world about them and how they lure in young men with false promise and then take advantage of them financialy, and in the process disfigure them for life. It wouldn't be so bad if they just took your money, but instead they take what little self esteem you have left from going bald, and then destroy that--leaving you physically and emotionally scarred for life.
