  1. It certainly will. Switched from daily to every other day about a year ago with absolutely no difference. Research shows that the exact length of time that the drug stays active in your body is hard to determine but it is at least 48h (for a 1mg dose). Thank You
  2. I have been taking propecia for the last 2 years pretty regulary, will propecia still work if I decide to take it 3-4 days a week instead of a full seven?

  4. Hey lookin good hairbank , nice clean work I think you will see a real big difference now.
  5. The best way to combat shock loss would be to start taking propecia a month before surgery. I am not a big fan of propecia but I think it is one of the only drugs that would help shock loss.
  6. jason I had a 1045 fut procedure with dr feller , it was a nice experience for me if you would like to see my results " I am about 3 months out " pm me. I dont work with feller , I just think he does really nice work.
  7. 3 months is when the tranplanted hair starts growing , it may take over a year to see final results. The hair may go threw growth cycles starting with fine hairs first then thickening up over time.
  8. D, you have to understand no matter what Dr you decide to go with there will always be a risk of somthing going wrong "i am not trying to scare you", it still is surgery and these Dr's are human. I have been threw 2 HT's and I am only 29 my first surgery was a waste of money my second done by feller so hopefully I will get the results I am looking for. I really think since you live in E PA you have access to some great dr's in the ny-li area use them even if its just for the free consultation. At this point in your hairloss "20" I would be carefull and use all the resources around you.
  9. Thats the one thig no one can tell , how many ht's you will actually need, no one can predict hairloss except god. In my case I only needed hairline work but who is to say 10 years down the road I wont loss my hair on top its unlikely because thats not the type of hairloss that runs in my family but it could happen . I am only 29 and on my second procedure. Taking the propecia has given me piece of mind . D I still wish you the best luck and hope all your expectations are met but I really do think you are too young to get this procedure and I think your DR should no better.
  10. not to give dr f free advertising but i had my second surgery with him as well and it was a pleasent exp to say the least , he can really educate you and has plenty of pics to show off , he is also a really down to earth guy. Also check out dr true and dorin they are right in manhattan they do excellent work as well. But if you go with pistone I wish you luck. The one thing that I question is you are a NW3 I would think you would want more than 1900 fu's. My hair loss was a NW2 and I recieved 1045 fu's and that was just a touch up job to fill in the spaces from my first procedure which was 825 fu's. I am not a Dr but i really think you wont be happy with 1900 fu's you wont get the density you want.
  11. i got lucky i grew my hair out b4 i got the procedure done but i freaked out when he shaved my recipient area, I was able to cover the recipient area by combing my hair foward thank god it was long enough to cover it. Also I am 6'3 so being that tall I disguised it well.
  12. Rottun I am also NW2 and my dr shaved my recipient area it is easier to work with like pat said. Honestly I would wait until after you get the stitches out b4 you go back to work.
  13. I myself have been on propecia for 3 years with no side effects , I am hoping I can start using a half a pill a day instead of a full pill. This thread should be closed, 4 pages of info and a few fights over somthing we as a group have no control over. I do wish dhuge good luck with his HT and hope he will take propecia.
  14. well i think dhuge has his mind made up , I do think if he doesnt take propecia to save his native hair he will have a full hairline after the ht and no hair in the crown area.
  15. Hey guys I am a lil less than 3 months out of my procedure , is there any consequence if I shave the recipient area with a #4. Thanks John

  17. How many transplants has this dr pistone done? are there b4 and after pics of his work? I just think you cant jump into things like this even if you and your father has his confidence I would still shop around with your dad to get other opinions.
  18. I agree that this would normally be the case but..and I have not yet stated this...my mother had breast cancer and during that time my father got to know the Chief of Surgery at the Hershey Medical Center very well. Since I decided to get the HT, my dad contacted this man and asked about Dr. Pistone. Everything checked out and he is considered top notch by the Hershey people. This gave my dad enough confidence to allow me to move forward. Well it seems to me you made up your mind , what I would do now is start taking the propecia it will help get your dht levels down b4 surgery.
  19. D , If you are going to get the HT done at least start taking the propecia. But please do this go to at least 3 other Dr's and get their opinions dont do what I did for my first procedure and go to the first doc you see , take your time and shop around, go to one of the Dr 's recommended on this board just for a second or third opinion it can't hurt only helps. The bottom line is dont short change yourself Pistone will always be there if you decide to use him but get other opinions. When you buy a car do you buy from the first dealership? No you shop around and get other prices and opinions? Dont you think you should try other doc's instead of going with the first one you went too.
  20. That is not true it's been proven by many doctors on this site that large mega sessions and dense packing fu's does not yield to the blood supply issue, thats just a sales pitch so they can get you back for more than one session. Your better off going to a ht dr recommended by this site. When it comes to ht procedure's your goal is for one surgery not 2 or 3, especially with today's technology you want it done once the right way.
  21. 1000-1500 is a good amount for a nicely rebuilt hairline, I would think anything over 3000 would be more like a mega session
  22. According to dr feller some patients experience regrowth right from surgery "no shedding" i am 2.5 months in and I see fine hairs starting to grow, but I think you really see you final result one year post op.
  23. not for nothing those look like good results.
  24. same thing happened to me all the hair started falling out that was transplanted, your new hair should start growing in three months but I would nt worry its the natrual process in the procedure. The transplanted goes to sleep then re awakes in 3 months, its a long process hair grows slow.
  25. yea it is real exciting since this is my second procedure , I am really looking foward to the final results,. I think I should have excellent density , I am just wondering why my hair didnt look that good after my first procedure in 02 I had hair but very lil definition with 825 grafts.
