  1. JOnhsons baby shampoo or any other baby shampoo!
  2. Nanogen is really good for the crown if you have medium to long hair and its thinning. only tried courve apart from that, and that was rubbish!
  3. it says it has 20mg/g of ketoconazole (anti dandruff shampoo), does not say if its 1% or 2% though!
  4. one problem i have is that i have dirty blonde hair. so blonde is too light, and light brown/ brown is too dark! with dermatch, could you maybe mix the platinum blonde with the light brown or dont they mix?
  5. question in the title, how many times a week do you use it in your routine?
  6. Been using nanogen when had long hair, cut it short now and its not any good, what do people use with short hair?
  7. About the fertility issue, surely a drug company would have done extensive trails on this issue? Imagine if they come out with a drug that causes infertility, which is not mentioned on the potential side effects! They would go bankrupt with the amount of court cases against them. Yes they make alot of money from proprecia, but they would lose that and more if it caused men in there 20's to go infetile. Mild pain killers like nurofen have a huge list of potential side effcts just to cover their own asses!
  8. shaveddeathmonk, so are you taking 1.25mg fin /1mg proprecia every two days now, obviously if it works the same, can only be better to take less of the medication, as i suspect their would be less chance of side effects!
  9. So I am looking into getting a prescription for finasteride/propecia or proscar and i find my old finasteride 5mg tablets; that are still in date, i have 2 months worth left if i divide them into 4's. Just one question, say when i eventually run out and need a new prescription for the drug, and the doctor will only give me a prescription for proprecia or proscar, would the two months that i would have been using the finasteride 5mg (cut in 4's) have been wasted? or are all the medicines the same so it wouldnt make a difference about the name of the next prescription, whether they be called propecia or proscar? hope this makes sense, i just dont want to take this and then if i cant get it again, for it to be wasted!
  10. thnx for the advice spex, will think about it and may just give him a call. its a shame more gps arnt clued up on this issue, went to one when i was 19 and basically said deal with it, wish had some of this advice then and knew there were other options!
  11. ignore that actually that was the courve i got lol
  12. i had the light brown for light blonde, noway a match, the colour is the colour of poo lol funny but thats what i think it matches, id go with the blonde m8
  13. sounds really good; but where does he get the proscar from? because dont doctors normally write a prescription for you to take to a pharmacy, not write the prescription and distribute the drug?
  14. I think they prescribe proprecia or finasteride, without having to go and see an expensive trichologist/dermatologist. Thats all i want really and dont want to spend hundreds of pounds to see a specialist. But if they are only goin to give you rogaine then, yeh it is a con. but it says that they now give what only doctors used to be able to prescribe, so i thought this means proprecia or fin.
  15. Hi dude heres the link i found http://www.boots.com/webapp/wc...052&categoryId=11858
  16. Has anyone been on this? what does it involve? I gather they are just supplying you with propecia, but the length of the 'programme' seems to suggest that its only twelve weeks long, when for proprecia to be successful you need to have continue usage. Anyway, anyone been on it/ is it any good?
  17. In my old job, i was researching a uk pharma company (or research company, cant remember name) based in cambridge-sore they were in phase 3 trials, i think, for this process. Not heard anything since though, and that was more than a year ago, so not sure if good news, but at the time i was quite excited!
  18. two relevent points, like i said in the post you can take my advice or leave it, its based on my personal experience that i just wanted to share with others who may be going through the same shit as i did! I just wrote how i felt, and how i have regretted spending so much time worrying about this, when i could have been living and having fun! Its hair loss, its not cancer, your not going blind, you havent broke your back and can never walk again; I hate it when people say these things to me, infact it gets on my nerves, but ultimately they are correct, if you got told you had cancer tommorrow, im pretty sure you would not give a feck about your hair loss and i think you would regret all the time you wasted obsessing over it!
  19. Now, I am not goin to talk about causes, solutions rather lessons I have learnt and may only just have realised, about my expereince, which may be use to others! Well to start off, at school (11-16) I was a nobody, and as such had no luck with any ladies and no confidence. However, when i left and went to college (16-18), i changed my attitude, I was positive, funny, charasmatic and cheeky-my looks had not changed, i was still average looking, but all of the sudden girls wanted to know me; I literally had about 5 obsess over me, never had to ask them out because they asked me out! Then i started to lose my hair at 18 and since then I have not had hardly any attention (few gf's) or confidence. I used to blame this on the hair loss, but it is not, its the fact that hair loss has changed me as a person, and I have only just realised this! How can you be exciting and 'care free', when you worry about if its windy or raining, whether you can put your head under the water when playing water sports at the beach, constantly checking in mirrors, not wanting girls to touch your head, always obsessing over one small part of 'you'! How can you be confident when you hate your appearance? Its just not a nice way to live really. These personality changes are the things that have changed the most and made me less appealing and changed the care free 'happy go lucky' person i once was! so here is some advice, take it or leave its, by all means try the rogaine, proprecia, wigs or whatever, if you feel that these are right for you. But dont obsess, the chances are you are the only one at this stage that has realised you are losing your hair, at 18 i thought i had lost so much, when looking at pictures it was hardly noticable, live for today not what might happen tommorrow, think what you could achieve if you put all the worry and time into your studies instead of worrying about your hair! Live life to the full, be confident, happy and accept it and have fun! I know it sounds 'easier said than done', as i had some of this advice from family at the time, and ignored it. Just dont obsess, your hair is just ONE part of YOU, there are other much more important things that attract girls (personality), try to be funny, try to find a mutual interest or sport/hobby that can take your mind of it-JUST dont waste your life looking in the mirror wishing it to change, when it prob wont and doesnt even matter that much anyway! I wish everyone well and to a happy life, because thats the only thing that trully matters!

  21. well before using the foam i had the odd pimple. since i started i have had atleats 3 at anyone time, even now i have stopped. They are not like normall pimples, they seem to be more under the surface, without a head. They tend to last much longer than the ones on the face and are pretty sore. Numbness has subsided since i have stopped the foam! I have never heard of sum1 else having numbness, but have read a few people have had pimples from the rogaine.
  22. i stopped taking rogain foam a couple weeks back, this mainly due to the continued head pimples and a numbing of the scalp. Will see if these subside and then see if i will go back on.
  23. I will continue because, i have nothing to lose! if it works, great! if it doesnt, im at no loss, i'll just shave my head, consider other options and hopefully finally move on!
