  1. Bill, They do list the main ingredients on their website: They also state: I'd be highly suspicious of any company/product making such bold claims.
  2. PanamaJimmy, Thanks for the reply. I don't want to sound ungrateful, though I would like more detailed and conclusive directions, since Dr. Charles hasn't replied as yet I have sent him a private message making him aware of this thread and asking for more details. Hopefully we'll know more soon.
  3. PanamaJimmy, Thank you for the reply. Can you remember how Dr. Charles advised you use the product and how often?
  4. Dr. Lindsey, Sorry for the delay. Thank you for taking the time to write your detailed post and sharing your experience and thoughts. If I end up having a second transplant, I will keep your observations in mind and raise them with my surgeon.
  5. Djames, I could be wrong but I believe we are covered by an EU law that forces airlines to offer a full refund or reschedule the lost flights. I also believe there are restrictions in place to stop airlines profiting from situations like this.
  6. If you are looking to reschedule, I'd be disappointed if you lost your deposit over something that is clearly out of your control.
  7. Hey Djames, I don't want to worry you anymore but I think it is highly unlikely you will get to Thailand by Wednesday. A lot of airlines have already canceled flights for Monday and from what I understand even when flights resume, priority will be given to the 1000's of passengers stranded around the world. What did Dr. Pathomvanich say regarding the situation?
  8. Hey Sparky, The likelihood is you won't see anything but it is there. Bill, Sorry, I realise this may be better suited in the "Off Topic" section. I would have moved it if I'd noticed before the reply.
  9. I'm sure by now the world is aware of the aviation problems Europe is having due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the resulting ash clouds covering large parts of Europe. The UK, like a lot of other European countries will soon be entering its 4th day of complete flight cancellations (absolutely no commercial flights taking off or landing) with no sign of it ending anytime soon. Has anyone's transplant been affected by this and what has their clinic's response been?
  10. Dr. Lindsey, When I had my work done, the donor was closed using absorbable sutures along with tension stitches which were vertical stitches that ran the length of the donor around an inch or less apart and were removed after 5 days. I have already discussed the matter with my surgeon and if I have further work done by him, he is happy to use internal sutures as an addition.
  11. Welcome Runner2215! 4 days post-op it is possible to lose grafts if they are pulled... given the fact you nicked your receipt and you noticed some bleeding - this may be what happened. One graft is going make no difference to your final outcome so even if this is what happened don't worry too much about it just be a little more careful.
  12. Ohnomahair, Minoxidil has been proven to halt or slow loss for many users, and in some cases grow hair where as the benefits of the laser comb are still widely debated. Since you have already experienced regrowth from Minoxidil in the past, I'd give it another shot. Have you tried Rogaine foam? Also, I see no reason why you can't use both at the same time.
  13. I wouldn't have thought any employer could access your medical records without you given them permission. Personally, I'd just put down Finasteride and if questioned - tell them the truth. If you lie on the declaration it can cause nothing but problems.
  14. I'd also be interested in ideas to increase the blood supply... would using Minoxidil up until the surgery date help with this?
  15. Here in the UK I've heard of people recieving cosmetic surgery such as breast enlargements and otoplasty free of charge through the NHS (The National Health Service). However, I don't believe there is a hope in hell of getting a hair transplant paid by the NHS. That being said, there was an outcry here a few years back when a girl who was too short to become an air stewardess recieved very costly surgery on the NHS to lengthen her legs by an inch or so. Anything is possible I guess. Edit: It was actually 5 inches she gained at a cost of 12,000 pounds ($19,000). You can read the story -here- if anyone is interested.
  16. Dr. Lindsey, Thank you for the reply. Am I correct in thinking that deep layer sutures are some sort of internal suture? Also, if a clinic does not routinely use deep layer sutures would it still be wise to request them?
  17. Hope2win, There is no need to start off on Propecia, the reason a lot of people move to Proscar is in relation to the price. If you decide to use Propecia first any doctor should prescribe it.
  18. Welcome Info_tranplant! You can find all her contact details -here-.
  19. No problem ;-) hope you're still doing well and on track.
  20. Yeah pal, that's me, lol. I am returning to Thailand, nothing is set in stone at this point but yes I may have a second transplant. If I go ahead, I'll be sure to take and post photos.
  21. Hey Bullitnut, Yeah, Graftcyte would be my first choice but it's very expensive and somewhat difficult to get in the UK. I'd have to order online. I'll buy it if I need to but I'd rather not.
  22. Dr. Charles was using this product back in March 2009. He stated in an earlier post that it has reduced patient healing times. Has anyone had any experience with H2Ocean spray and if so how did you find it? Dr. Charles, If you read this post, are you still using/recommending this product? If so how do suggest it is used post-op? I'd also be interested in hearing about any other products people have used on the receipt post-op.
  23. If the main benefit noted so far has been an arrest in shedding, I'm not sure what the pictures are going to prove. Even if patients continued to shed for the 8 or so months after the treatment, would we see a great deal of difference in the photos? I guess it would differ on a case by case basis, however, it would be very difficult to judge on photos alone unless there was large loss. The fact that patients are booking back up (which I have no doubt is true) shows that they believe the treatment is working. While we all want and hope for photos and evidence showing impressive results, I believe patient feedback is the best we can expect in this short time.
  24. Hey TakingThePlunge, Yeah, I also wear my hair fairly long. I just want to give everything the best chance of healing and growing.
