  1. I apologize for jumping to conclusion. My experience with him leads me to have quite a biased opinion about his work. Also, there have been problems with false posts in the past with Larry Shapiro. http://hair-restoration-info.c...=228109261#228109261 Unfortunately I do not have any post-Larry Shapiro shots. I never bothered to get them from Dr. Epstein. On my weblog you can see what I look like now (post-Epstein). Congratulations on your experience. It's just hard for me to beleive we went to the same Doctor Again though, until we see some consistent results from Larry Shapiro it just wouldn't make any sense in my eyes to chose him over the other respected Doctors on this site.
  2. I'd say lets grab a drink the night before but I don't think that would fly with Dr. F! Haha. This whole no alcohol thing sucks! Well worth it in the end though...
  3. Scheduled to have 800-1000 grafts with Feller on Tuesday. Will try to get Dr. Feller to take some better pics. Aparently the 8 Megapixel camera I bought doesn't know how to focus. The pics don't show the extent of stalkiness.
  4. Both Dr's are very well respected on this site and have shown very consistent results. I am scheduled for a procedure with Feller in 4 days (not that I am counting!) Way to do your research! Good Luck with everything...
  5. K Larry. I'll take a skinny latte with vanilla. JK If you had a positive experience I am happy for you. I am just sharing my experience as well. I don't want anyone to make the same mistake I made. There are much more consistent skilled Doctors out there.
  6. I too have had experience with Dr. LARRY Shapiro and I will tell you that it is absolutely the WORST decision I have ever made in my life. He took advantage of me at an extrememly young age (21) and I will probably never recover from what he did to me. No ethical doctor would have ever operated on me at my age and with the hairloss I was experiencing. I told the Doc I wanted to be proactive to prevent any further loss and he agreed with me that it was a good idea. He placed 3's and 4's throughout my existing BARELY thining hair. Well I assume you can guess where the story goes from here. More hairloss occured and I'm left with an awful hairline that I never expose in public (brush all of my hair forward). I can't beleive I gave my precious donor to him. You live an you learn I guess. I've already been in for one repair procedure by Epstein and it was minimally successful. Now I am off to another small repair in less than a week with Dr. Feller. Hopefully this will be the last TP for several years. Some of these photos look impressive but beware...I experienced that office first hand and he and his staff are phony salesmen who have no expertise in this field. It would ABSOLUTELY not be beyond that man and his practice to create false postings. I apologize if this post comes off as overly harsh and negative but I have been scarred for the younger years of my life because of this Dr. LARRY Shapiro. I would never take a chance with him. Go to a respected Doc.
  7. Good question. I was wondering the exact same thing...
  8. lost - just really trying to keep what I have. I assume growth is possible but I would be elated if it just allowed me to keep whats already there. Sorry for the bad pics. Hopefully it gives you an idea of what I am trying to acheive though. I realize my hairloss isnt horrible and I just want to use this small number of grafts to fill in the gaps a bit so it looks natural
  9. current pic of how I want to be able to wear my hair. Unfortunately the hairline looks like above so im stuck brushing my hair forward
  10. The PRP was pretty much done just behind where the transplanted hairs were. The front has decent density after my HT but my hairline is very stalky. I've posted pics previously with my situation but will try to post some others soon. Dr. Feller took some pics and I would be fine if he shared them with the community. PRP is an exciting development and I hope it treats me well!
  11. Just wanted to share my pleasant experience at Dr. Fellers Office. Flew to NY Yesterday to see Dr. Feller for a consultation and ended up getting a PRP done as well. Dr. Feller recommended 800-1000 grafts dense packed in between the 2s and 3s that currently make up my hairline (very sparsely). I was very happy with his conservative approach with grafts because I am only 25 and realize that I will have more HT's down the road. I am going to try to schedule the appointment as soon as possible. I've been doing research on this site for over a year and am confident the Dr. Feller is the man for the job. Also I had a PRP treatment which was about as simple and painless as possible. It literally took less than 30 minutes and there is virtually no evidence that anything was done. I considered buying a hat on the way back to the airport but after looking in the mirror realized there was nothing to cover. He made a couple dozen injections of the platelets all around my dome and then did 250 small pokes to activate them (correct me if I am wrong doc!). The needle is so tiny that you cant see anything. It was an overall very positive experience. Well worth the day of Travel and am excited to schedule a procedure and correct my hairline
  12. This ad must be a joke. How this man is still allowed to practice is a mystery to me. What a horrible human being...
  13. Thanks for the support. I'm not going to lie I am definitely too self conscious. Second procedure was by Epstein. I think the guy is great and maybe my expectations were a bit high. I know there has been some controversy lately but I do believe he really cares about his patients. He did a great job of getting most of the very pluggy looking grafts. I'm like 99% of the people on this site in wishing there was just a bit more...
  14. First doc was Larry Shapiro in So Fla. He will rot in hell one day. I guarantee you that. I was too young and too stupid to realize how big of a phony he is. Second doc I'd rather keep to myself for now. I went in to see him for a follow-up after about 9 months. He was very concerned but suggested we wait until a year to reevaluate. I'm past a year and haven't seen any improvement
  15. Thanks for the thoughts. I'll try to cheer up a bit. I wear my hear down currently and its seems to cover pretty well. Probably going to wait a bit to see how my hair loss progresses.
  16. So I decided to get my first hair transplant when I was around 21 years old and my hair was just thinning a bit in the front. Horrible idea. Did not do any research and chose some doc who basically gave me plugs. Most grafts had 5-10 hairs in them. So I decided at 23, when more of the native hair began to fall out and the "plugs" became more noticeable that I would go in for round two. This time I did some research and chose a coalition doc. A year later and I am still in a horrible situation. While the "repair" did an ok job to get rid of some of the plugs it did little to add any density and it if I wear my hair back/up it is extremely obvious that I had a procedure done. I am at the point now where I have no idea what to do. I wish more than anything that I never went in for that first procedure and now I have to live with the fear of people noticing my procedure and having to constantly hide my hairline. I am afraid that my hair loss is going to continue and I am going to be completely screwed. I take propecia and rogaine but I still feel as though things may be getting worse. I don't know if there is anyway to fix my mistakes. It is a horrible feeling. Any thoughts, suggestions, comments would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get a third procedure but I'm afraid that I have used up to many grafts already. Also, my second scar streched a good bit and I can barely even pull off a #5 haircut. I really wish I could have my hair shorter but instead I have to keep it long in order to hide the scar and the pluggly looking hairline

  18. Foundation, do you have any before pics? Good luck with everything. Keep us updated
  19. greetings I am also at the 4 month mark and haven't seen much growth. My procedure was a "corrective" procedure as well. I actually, however, remember the hairs growing faster the first time around (even though they were pluggy looking). Is it possible to have different rates of growth from different procedures?
