  1. temper temper? Sorry bud I just think your remark was a bit unnecesary. I am well aware of the fact that there are other sites out there. For the most part I stick to this site because of its transparency. I also think the organization and moderation is far superior to the others. Yes, I visit them occasionally and make a comment here and there. Can we drop this subject or do you need to add anymore witty remarks?
  2. The reason there is no agreement on a definate time frame is because there IS no definate timeframe. Everyone's bodies are different. From my understanding if there is no blood then you have MOST likely not lost a graft. I am not a doctor and can't say for sure whether there is a possibilty thay you can lose a graft with the absence of blood. I would not worry about hairs that are naturally shedding (without any force) before the 8-15 day period you have suggested
  3. Thanks for the smart-ass comment
  4. Haha thanks for the advice. Trust me I only do it by myself in the privacy of my own home! I figure its better thank smoking!
  5. Glad you can see where I am coming from then Congrats on your results though I think its time we put this (these) threads to rest
  6. I have noticed this in several post-op pics and was always curious about it. It seems to be much more prevalent in some doctors work and very absent in others.
  7. I want to! It's just that I know your not supposed to smoke and being that dip is a tobacco/nicotine based product I was thinking maybe it had the same negative effects. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
  8. FWIW had you confused?!?!? Jeez man...I was lost throughout Ron J's entire argument... "disanalogous cases" "perpetual cycle of folly" "malformed conclusions" "fallacious reasoning" "tout his extreme views carte blanche" I felt like I was back in a college english class or something. Ron J...are you a lawyer? (Only trying to make light of the situation. In the words of Rodney King "Can't we all just get along"?)
  9. Haha, your not the first person who has asked that question. As I understand it, the body would reject your friends hair due to the differences in your DNA. Although, I do have a twin brother...hmnn. Maybe I could slip him a sedative and steal some of his donor while he is sleeping. Muhahaha! Thanks for the idea brentipold!
  10. Good luck on your recent transplant sunnyd! I recently had my procedure there and showed up at 6:45! Needless to say I had some waiting around to do! Do you plan on posting pictures? It's a great way to track your progress!
  11. The pictures I have are after 1st repair so they don't look as bad. The pictures that would help the most to demonstrate Shapiro's work are in the hands of Dr. Jeff Epstein. I did not find this site until after Epsteins procedure and therefore did not realize the advantages of documenting my progress. If the Doctor made a "mistake" on me the last thing I want to do is go back to him and roll the dice again. As you will find is the case with many patients on this site, you don't realize the extent of the work done on you until more of your native hair falls out. In this case it was 2 years later. I wasn't about to run back into his office and say...hey look what you did. I was already embarrased and ashamed in the first place that I put my "hair fate" in his hands the first time around. I'm glad you did not have the experience I did. Best of luck.
  12. Gee I wish I had another picture from back then. Unfortunately that is the only one I could find!
  13. Just thought I'd share a quick story about L. Shapiro... So I had my initial consultation with him where he threw me a great pitch about how he had done over 10,000 procedures and was the pioneer in hair transplantation. I was 21 years old at the time. I really did not have much of an affinity to him but I thought to myself "shit, if I am going to do a procedure I might as well do it with someone who has experience". The Doc and I agreed that he would do 1,500 grafts in the frontal 1/3 (which was BARELY thinning). I choose a date and we agree on the price. I show up the day of surgery and the Doc says to me..."you know what...what do you say we do an extra 500 grafts on you today". It kind of put me in a panic mode right then and there. Do I pay the extra money and get the extra grafts? Do I need them? Is he just trying to take advantage of me? No no no, He is a doctor...he is just looking out for my best interest. I knew nothing about hair transplantation and didn't even realize that I had a limited donor supply. So I figured I better not short myself and agreed with the Doctor that I would go ahead with the extra 500. In actuality I probably needed 0 grafts that day, but Dr. Shapiro wanted to push me to get as many as possible in order for that final bill to be as high as possible. He did this just moments before I was about to go under the scalpel. It's something that has really ticked me off to this day. It goes to show you what type of unethical sales practice the man uses. Attached is a photo of what my hair looked like about 1 year before the procedure. It thinned out a bit since then but not much.
  14. Getting to the airport was a breeze. Too bad they put us all on the plane only to find that the computer system on it was broken. Had to all de-board and wait for another plane to come available. Better safe than sorry! To be honest I thought my staples were going to hurt alot more. There is definately some tight tension but the pain is minimal. I may just keep these Vicodin in the medicine cabinet. Or save them up for when I have to have my mom remove the staples! I was just doing some research on peoples experiences having family members remove the staples. DOES NOT SOUND PLEASANT! I am actually going to attempt to keep my in for maybe close to three weeks if Feller is ok with it. I took my cloth off this morning and it was really exciting to feel fuzz all around the staples and not a nasty scar like my last round. Hoping not to much stretching occurs!
  15. Bro I saw your pics. I'm not suggesting, just asking but... are you not wearing any concealer in those?
  16. I can't remember but did you ever say how many grafts you recieved?
  17. Ok I realize it a gross habit...but...is it ok to dip after a procedure. I usually only do it once or twice a night to relax a but don't want to jeopardize my results. Thoughts appreciated!

  19. I find it embarrasing for both of you that you beleive a protein shake somehow makes a difference in your hair growth. I stand by my argument that Dr. L Shapiro is a phony salesmen. I also stand by argument that your cousin has no credibility on here after trying to convince us he had substantial growth after 3 months with a picture where his dome was covered in dermatch. Maybe you can make less of a fool of yourself and post some ACTUAL before and after pictures that arent taken with a disposable camera...
  20. Hey bud. Made it back home alive. Had a great time sleeping last night like a horse. Haha. No swelling whatsover though which is fantastic. Again I am very impressed with your outcome. Feller obviously does a great job. It looks like your going to have some great coverage. I think it's going to look real good blended in with the grafts/hair that were already there. Hope you enjoy your last few days in the city and have a safe trip. P.S. Let me know how the staple removal goes. Think I am having my mother do it and I'm damn nervous!
  21. This is a good thread with alot of info on PRP. I had the procedure done a couple weeks ago. http://hair-restoration-info.c...=121102672#121102672 No you do not need to do it before your surgery. Some say it MIGHT help with the healing process but nothing is proven. You will be in good hands with H&W
  22. PRP is Platelet Rich Plasma that is injected in the scalp and could possibly induce some sort of growth or atleast sustain it. Please see the following thread for some more information. http://hair-restoration-info.c...=121102672#121102672
  23. I suppose this makes tons of sense. Instead of posting comprehensive photos for the world to see, allowing yourself to be evaluated by your esteemed peers, and offering access to your clinic with complete transparency to a community of educated and conscientious patients... why not just write a fun little jingle instead? Jingles are very "professional" in the medical profession, and they have long been considered the most impressive way of demonstrating a doctor's competency and credibility. A friend of mine needs open heart surgery, and he is desperately trying to determine which doctor out there has the best jingle. I've been helping him. You wouldn't believe how many guys out there have offered to perform surgery on him who have given us the run around when asked if we can hear their jingle. Billo -- let me suggest that we replace all of the blogs and photo galleries on this site with downloadable mp3s. Instead of doctor's using video, the new mark of distinction will be high definition sound recordings. I suppose GnSville has really proven himself to be a convincing and reputable poster. I'm sure that any intelligent person reading his comments will find that his/her writing speaks for itself. I need to cut this short now... I need to go find a new dentist, as I am fed up with my regular one's lack of musical ability. I am 10 days from my 1 year anniversary as a HTN member and I must say that this definatly makes my top 3 list of greatest posts
  24. This isn't a site to talk about your life accomplishments riky. This is a site created to share information and experiences on hair loss, hair transplants, and hair transplant doctors. You have already engaged in one form of deception and in my opinion that is all it takes for you to lose complete credibility. Especially when it happens on the same day you registered on this site. Your motives are obviously not in line with what is trying to be accomplished on this site. There are other hair loss sites out there that I am sure would love to have you as a member. I think it is more than clear that your statements, opinions, etc. are no longer respected here.
